secretly met with Kim Davis during his U.S. trip. I wonder why they kept it a secret?

I think you're one of the few people that think of the Pope so much in political terms. You constantly tout how he's left when nobody else thinks he's anything then you spring us with the "a-ha, he met with Kim Davis so he's not left" when nobody else cares whether he met with Kim Davis. Maybe you're over-politicizing the Pope a bit.

This is the most political pope in my lifetime. If you don't understand that, you're not very informed. I believe the Pope is left, very far left, and I raised the Kim Davis question, not to prove he isn't left, but why the meeting was kept a secret.

How can the Pope be so far left, according to you, and yet sympathize with Kim Davis? For that matter, how can a Pope that is so far left be against abortion and sex outside of marriage and all the other culturally conservative things things the Catholic Church stands for?

Maybe this Pope is just another Pope and after this recent trip to the US you'll barely hear about him again until he some day decides to come back to the US.

The Pope doesn't have the power to change the Church's positions on marriage, abortion, etc. The Pope is a marxist/socialist and a redistributionist. His view of capitalism is very, very negative. That is very, very far left and indisputable.

Read the Bible. There is some pro-poor people stuff in there. I hear that it's easier for the camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven.

No wonder you're an atheist. You don't understand scripture. Jesus was talking about the love of money. Jesus' teachings were all about personal responsibility, he never talked about government responsibility. He admonished all of us to aid the poor, the sick, the widows and orphans and the afflicted. Render unto Caesar.

It is also true that capitalism has lifted more out of poverty than marxism/socialism.

Render unto Caesar what is Casear's. What specifically was he referring to there? Money with Caesar's picture on it.

Bear one anothers burderns and so fulfill the law of Christ (Gallations 6:2).

And try Mathew 25:45 too.

This atheist knows more than you do about what the Bible says about how to treat poor people.

I agree that communism is useless. That's irrelevant to what's in the Bible though.

You need to stick with things you know. Render unto Caesar means obey the laws. The Bible is all about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Jesus didn't come to topple the government or to change the government. He came to save individuals. The Bible is not a textbook on government policy. It is a prescription on individual responsibility.

He's 78 years old. I doubt if he will ever come back to the US just due to his age.

The Bible is a prescription on individual responsibility? It's official. You've completely merged religion and politics.

I don't know how anyone can define this Pope politically on what he's said. What I've heard is him address the issues contrary to biblical values. Greed leading to worker exploitation is common to capitalism. Anyone saying otherwise is ignorant, blind or lying.

Saying everyone has a right to life, property, and self-determination isn't socialist. It's biblical, and most of it is found in the Declaration of Independence.

The Pope has not accepted homosexuality as a lifestyle within the bounds of Christian morality. He's welcomed sinners to the Church--which sounds a lot like Jesus.

Secretly, the Pope may be a devil-lovin', gay communist, but you can get that from what he's said in his ministry heretofore.

Google is your friend. He has said many, many things that are anti-capitalist and pro socialist/redistributionist. Capitalism isn't perfect, but it has raised far more people out of poverty than any other economic system. The Pope is very, very far left economically. Socially, he is where the catholic church is. He can't change catholic doctrine.
