Exactly. Some people fail to apprehend that basic fact.

As I've stated before in other threads, traditionally, a conference is ideally composed of "like-minded" schools in the same geographic footprint. Among the members, there should be longstanding rivalries, e.g., USC-Clemron, UGA-Ga Tech, Ole Miss-Ole Miss State, etc.

For better or worse, the TV $$$ has warped this.
