Only Dawson would make a 6'5, 240 pound QB, with over 300 yards rushing last year, slide against college DBs.

You and I clearly disagree on Towles. But I agree 100 percent with this. Why in the world Dawson came in from Day 1 saying he didn't want Patrick running is beyond me. Could you imagine MSU doing that with Prescott? While Patrick may not be that kind of athlete, he is huge by QB standards and has pretty good wheels. Also, it seems like when he's making big plays in the running game is when he also makes his best throws. To strip him of that part of his game makes no sense, and he's a worse quarterback because of it.

Towles finished 10-26 for 67 yards and one interception. Barker finished 5-8 for 60 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The TD in the 2nd half was mainly the RB's going to work. Not your boy.
Now tell me how good of a job your boy did that lead us to victory? How many TD's he throw?
We got robbed of one TD in the back of the end zone that would have turned the game.

At this point we absolutely have to get Barker some more experience to help our future , we will pay for it later if we don't . Towles is not the answer , his production is putrid and we are losing with him at qb . If Towles experience is not producing wins then what are we doing ? He's not getting any better , in fact he's regressing at an alarming rate . Barker while mistake prone actually gives us the better chance to win now , he's only mistake prone because they have failed to give him any time to learn under fire .

don't forget the officials donkey raped us on the 4th down pass interference that wasn't called. Stupid decision to throw on 4th down but that was absolutely a foul on Vandy.

I have been calling for Drew the past 2 games. PT has lost it mentally and it is a shame.

I have been crying about the oline and wr's for some time.

I know PT's weaknesses - accuracy, pocket presence, pressure plays.

It is a shame the oline has been so bad and when he makes a decent throw there are way too many drops.

Barker gave us a spark, and some energy. I totally disagree with him being benched.

His INT was no different than many of PT's of which so many whine about here. And again it is the oline's fault, people think because you get a little time you should make 100% completions. Rushing only 3-4 dlinemen and STILL getting pressure makes life really tough for a QB against 7-8 pass defenders.

Drew's was very much like the pick at Miss State where the offside lber snuck over and grabbed it. Drew said he never saw him.

3 wr's vs 7-8 = defenders everywhere.

I thought Barker showed some moxie and PT needs to at least watch from the sidelines and try to regroup mentally.

I am much more concerned about the guys wearing headsets than any of the kids wearing helmets right now.

Barker made 3 mistakes. 3 ... 5 for 8 means 3 mistakes. Towles made 16 mistakes..... 10 for 26.

I don't know how many times we have to throw out the numbers as absolute proof to convince people Barker deserved more time.

Lets say Barker gave us 6 pts but took away 6 pts through the INT... thats 0.... right lets say he gave us 0. Well Towles cost us at least a FG with his INT in the end zone... so he was -3 on the day...... And yet some idiots are saying Barker cost us the game

First...no one said he should transfer. I for one hope he doesn't because that means we are stuck with Towles again next year. I said I "wouldn't blame him" IF he transfered. He has not been given a fair shot when he was responsible for brining in and majority recruiting/keeping the class he was in.

I would hope that you hope that he doesn't transfer.

Yes PT made terrible mistakes when Boom dropped a pitch my 2 year old catches every day, and Timmon's TD gift, and that wobbly pass that is obviously too hard for our wr's to catch at the goal line...

Incompletions are not mistakes, bad analogy.

That said, Drew should have never been benched, he brought a spark and energy.

I am going to keep repeating this line until I see different:

"I am more concerned right now with the men wearing headsets than the kids wearing helmets." bpoe

You can't called incompletions mistakes. If Drew threw passes away because no one was open that's a good decision.

IMO they shouldn't have ever yanked Towles the way they did. They pulled him after that AWFUL play call for the fade route at the goal line. Didn't run it once. Even the fanboys of Drew Barker have to admit, that was a pathetic series of calls, and yet it's somehow Towles' fault??

**EDIT - I just read where Stoops said it was a run audibled to a pass. In that case, that is Towles' fault BUT...

Barker is not better at this stage. But now the coaching staff has continued the rift and confusion by yanking and replacing, going back and forth between QBs, Steve Spurrier style.

Only difference is, this team needs leadership. We are not Louisville, and we are CERTAINLY not Ohio State.

Stoops is an epic loser after that.
No, the real loser is Dorian Baker, whom obviously can't be bothered to catch passes from anyone other than his best friend Barker. I have no time for that kind of **** and I'm surprised Stoops does. Fans at the game tonight saying it was very obvious that Baker favors one QB over the other and it obviously affects his play on the field. His *** would be cut by Monday if I were Stoops. No time for that childish crap.

Any Kentucky fan putting it in print that this kid should transfer is not a fan of Kentucky. This kid has the talent and is a real leader. Barker is our future and if you would like to see wins in the future, you won't be rooting for the kid to transfer. It was a bad call to take the kid out and put Patrick back in, but i hope Barker at least respects the fact these coaches are the most loyal to their guy than you will find in the nation. Drew's time is coming and it's real soon. Barker loves Kentucky and will be a legend when he leads our cats to bowl games. I'm sure the coaches know it was a mistake and we hope it won't happen again.

Wasn't so long ago Towles was "our future". Have you given up on Patty Ice? Now Barker is the next "legend"? You are one loyal guy and I applaud you.

However, Barker won't do any better than Towles because neither one has a chance in UK's weak version of a pro offense. The staff in all their confusion is recruiting even more "pro style" qbs. Evidently having forgotten we don't have the receivers or linemen to make that style successful and we probably never will.

This, from another loyal guy but one who recognizes a pig when he sees one.

It started as the o lines fault and the reason for Towles inabilities , then it was receiver drops . Now players are sabotaging Towles , [roll] . I want both or at least one to move the chains and I don't care who it is but the excuses for Towles has become beyond pathetic .

If the oline continues to get raped and the wr's keep dropping balls it wont matter who is QB.

Totally disagreed with Drew's benching.

Hot take: If we don't get robbed, Towles doesn't throw the interception, Barker never comes in, and we lose by 11-18.

Barber was recruited by a lot of major schools, yet he is setting on the bench at Ky, even when ky has been blown out, the kid deserves better, would not blame him if he wanted to transfer, Ky does not deserve him..

Why is anyone on this board encouraging Barker to transfer? WTF is wrong with you? Are you so miserable that you want all the kids to transfer so we can play Centre College every Saturday? I agree Stoops made a poor decision to bring Towles back in. But, so what? Barker should transfer? The illogic on this board is astounding sometimes. How about start the kid and coach him up? Stoops knew he desperately needed to win this game. He thought Towles, after sitting, might have screwed his head on straight. We did score our TD shortly thereafter (no help from Towles, admittedly). Sadly, PT reverted to form and never did put together much of a drive after that one.

But, telling Barker to transfer is just stupid. He's gonna start. Think him transferring makes UK better in football? I've given up on the team this year but I don't want them to sink back to 2-10 as a program. Again, WTF is wrong with you people?

It's a message board. If a guy transfers from something he read on a message board, you don't want him anyway.
