Finale was solid. Baby Mando. Can't wait to see the baby jet pack and helmet with green ears sticking out. Mando training and then find the Jedi temple to complete both trainings.

SW nerds are geeking out about Moff Gideon having the Darksaber at the end of the episode. You can assume he stole it from someone, but do you have to be force sensitive to wield it? Is he wanting to get baby Yoda and turn him to the Dark Side?
I'm not well-versed in SW lore other than the movies, so I had to look up why the Darksaber is so special. Apparently it's a one-of-a-kind light saber created by the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi and passed through a few hands over the years.

It's not a lightsaber. Was first seen in the Clone Wars wielded by Pre Vizsla.
Maul won it in a duel and then Sabine Wren got it in Rebels, who then gave it to Bo Katan

Im watching Rogue One as we speak. Got me Disney+ for a year because I just got a TV none of you poors could dream of.
Its ok. Like anything Star Wars.. its ok.
The Vader hallway scene at the end of Rogue 1 is probably my favorite Star Wars moment.
It's a light saber used by the first and probably only mandalorian jedi. Anyone can use a light saber, we've seen Han Solo and Finn use one.
You didn't really miss anything, the cartoon show Rebels had a storyline about the dark saber and it was pretty much a throwaway line:

That was pretty good. And ill give R1 props for having the balls to kill its entire cast. I really enjoyed that movie.
That said, I'm on to Solo.. and that Poker scene was hot garbage. This is the stuff that annoys me about SW fans. Im sure this scene made them go bananas.. but as far as acting, pace, and tension goes it was terrible. Extremly predictable.
Directors could have learned from Casino Royal and Rounders. Even John Malkovichs "so bad its good" russian accent was more believeable than this.
Hoping this makes a turn for the better. Call backs and nostalgia doesnt make a movie good on its own.
No one went bananas over anything that happened in Solo. It was fine.
Rogue One killed its entire cast because none of them were in the original Star Wars films. I'm not sure that took balls. The transition into A New Hope was great but made me wonder how Lucas couldn't do that with the prequels.

It was announced this week that the release date for season 2 is October 2020.
Glad they didn't show a lot, but what they did has me pumped.

I want Ewoks! Seriously. I was six when I saw RotJ back in '83 and I love Ewoks. I'd also like to see Wedge kick some *** in an X-Wing.
I hope they meet Luke but I doubt it'll happen. Mark Hamill's pretty insistent that he's done with Star Wars -- but then again, I'm pretty sure he played the Joker after he said that he was done with BTAS, and in interviews he's also talked about how much he loves The Mandalorian, so who knows.
There is a rumor that Pedro Pascal quit midway filming season 2 over not wanting to film in the suit as much. Mmmk.
I just rewatched Season 1 in preparation of Season 2. I hope it doesn't fall flat as Season 1 was great.
Not sure I'm buying that one. He signed up to play a dude who's always in a suit of armor.
Same. A little concerned they may have set the bar too high. But most shows worth watching really hit their stride in seasons 2-3, so holding out hope that is true of the Mando.
My wife can't stop buying Baby Yoda ****. But I get to watch it in silence.

I knew Mando would come out of the dragon's mouth yet the suspense was thick. They always seem to pull that off. Even all these years later.
