Locked in bets : $120 wagered

JT 11-1 ($20)
Morikawa 29-1 ($20)
Reed 32-1 ($20)
Hovland 35-1 ($20)
Horschel 85-1 ($10)
Poulter 160-1 ($10)
Phil 160-1 ($10)
Kisner 190-1 ($10)

Worst case outcome IF JT wins, I nearly double my money. 11-1 pays $220. Hovland or Reed win (They have legitimate shots) will win $700 and $640 respectively. Hell Morikawa pays $580, it would be a nice $460 gain.

Today or tomorrow Rose will shoot a 78 and that will be the end of him. One of these guys in the -1 to +1 range are going to put together 3 solid rounds and win it,

I doubt that seriously Rose is a very tough player with a ton of world wide wins and a U S Open

Well, he may or may not, but he's in a helluva position after day 1.....or would he rather switch places w/ a -1 player?

Rose also won the Olympic Gold medal in 2016, I had forgotten that

Been watching holes 4, 5, and 6 all morning on ESPN+. Amazing how many pros miss left on 6 and have it roll all the way down the hill instead of keeping it right even if it's off the green.

Rose, as I predicted, had the bottom falling out on the front 9 and has already lost three strokes. Unless he rights the ship my prediction of a 78 is looking pretty good despite the fanboy above that obviously doesn't know Rose is a choker. 4 way tie for 1st right now unless somebody gives Rose the Heimlich maneuver he's finished.

Leishman takes the lead at -5. He's on fire at -5 today. I've been waiting for the old Spieth to take over and go crazy with a ridiculous number but he's just stayed steady so far. All the players seem to be playing very conservatively trying to avoid the big number. It's obviously scaring them out there.

You where saying ????? Lot of golf left, how many times have we seen a guy play a great first round or two, then disappear. Ole Charlie Hoffman is well known for being upfront early. I call him two round Charlie. If tournaments where decided on Thursday and Friday, dude would be Hall Of Fame material.

Rose may not win, but Justin Rose >>>>>>>>>>>> Charley Hoffman (and it is not a close call)

Rose fought back to even par for the day after 4 bogeys on the front 9 which was a gutty performance after that start. Still, the pack is closing. I'm thinking -14 is the number unless the course continues to soften.

Hilarious that Si Woo Kim made par at 16 using 9 iron, 3 wood, 3 wood.😆😆😆😆

"Did you ever par in with a 7 iron"
"Well hell Cup, it never even occurred to me to try."

I think it was Zach Johnson on par 3 #6 today was short and it rolled back down the hill off the green, he then chipped it and it went left and rolled 70ft down the hill to the corner of the green, then he made the par putt back up the hill. That had to be the most yardage ever covered on a par 3 green for a par.

He threw his putter down on 14 and broke it so he can't replace it.

ESPN+ Masters coverage is awesome. You can follow certain groups or focus on certain holes. Plus coverage starts at 0845am. I watched 4,5, and 6 all morning.
