What do you guys think about Tom Brady calling Finau yesterday? I would be pissed if I were him. Talk about putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.

Hey Tom, that's like talking to the kicker before a game winning kick. You just don't do that.
I heard he also called what he thought was Hideki’s interpreter but got transferred to Lee Elder’s nurse and was thinking ‘JACKPOT...Nantz will totally get me a front seat on this patronization train!’ but she turned out to be German so he hung up.

Good tournament, and great win for Hideki. He has a few top notch W's on his resume. He may have had a Players last year after opening with a 63 (then came covid)

As has become commonplace, the hype of the tourney/course exceeds the event. 17 and 18 have to be the 2 most uneventful finishing holes for a top event. Be glad when Nantz has a Butler Cabin door hit him in the mouth.

I placed a bet every year for the last 5 or so years on Hideki to win the Masters, EXCEPT this year. I decided to place a wager on Morikawa instead. UGH, bad year to switch. I can't fault Xander, he was playing to win and tried to play 16 aggressive. Several players had hit it past and right to let it catch the slope and roll back, Leishman played it great just a couple groups ahead of Xander and had a two or three footer for the easy birdie. He just missed either way, at the flag or just right but about a yard, maybe two. Truly a game of feet.
Zalaclitoris put himself in several bad positions coming down the stretch with placement. I do not know if it was miss hits, or bad strategy, but I do know his caddy has to help him there and tell to play certain holes safe. I can think of at least 2 holes where he hit it past the flag 15-20 feet and left a very difficult down hill, breaking, very fast putt. He ran them both by the hole at least 10 feet and missed both for bogy. He also missed a couple inside 10 feet for birdie around holes 10-15. Kid was wonderful, and he gained some very valuable lessons. He will win it and sooner rather than later.

One other thing, Zalatoris looking dead on as Happy Gilmores caddy is very funny. he has embraced it, he has "happy I am your caddy" engraved on his 54 degree wedge. Too funny.

Mind boggling that Shauffele hits it into the water on 16 in that situation. The pressure must have been enormous. The truly great respond and play even better under enormous pressure and they are very, very rare in all of sport.

True, but he was still 2 behind with 3 to play, needed to birdie, par there is not going to realistically win the tournament. (and had he hit the green, Matsuyama would have played a different shot on 16, so I don't know whether you can assume he would have made bogey there)

But . . . personally thought that was a dumbass play by Hidecki on 15, especially at 220 yards out, caddie should have handed him a 9 iron, then a 60 degree wedge, make par and it doesn't matter what anyone else does.

How bad *** is this. While i wait for my flight out of Atlanta at 6:45am, let me just put my green jacket over the chair next to me.

Agree on 15. Hideki can't even look at the left pin placement in that situation. His play all day long is right even if it's in the sand because long there doesn't reach the water and it's the biggest part of the green.

Heard on radio show yesterday that Hideki winning The Masters would earn him 200 million plus in Japanese Endorsements!

The Masters joins cancel culture and the Ghost of Bobby Jones is wondering what the hell Elder was doing there in the first place without being a past winner let alone making the cut.

‘Leading up to the tournament, he received substantial amounts of hate mail. Fearing for his safety, during the week of the tournament he rented two houses in town and kept moving between them, and always had people around him when he went to eat.’

I’m sure he is a good guy and all that but this is complete ********. Simply put, there’s no way someone who’s best finish that year was 36 place in the Tucson open and won less than $1500 total has multiple homes he’s renting and food tasters and a legion of people around him protecting him from white people.

Must have been written lby a millennial chick or a pajama boy who doesn’t understand that of all sports fans golf fans are the most polite given the backdrop of it being a Gentlemans game. reeks of homely female millennial journalism

Leave it to the woke female journalist to have asked every single person there about the GA voting law that I guarantee she and the rest of them have never read.

He held up the golf ball showing the brand that GP was going to hit with. Evidently a big no no for The Masters.

At a minimum. I am willing to learn Japanese and rep him for lets say, 7.5% of his endorsements? Seems more than fair to me.
