Let me add to that... Please, please, please don't write a opposition memo against the original findings. Don't ever do such a thing!
It culminates with the IG Report, and a SC totally independent of anything/anyone from the DOJ in any prior iteration to clean the mess up outside of what Mueller cleans up.
Oops, did I let that out? Yeah, I don't think he's down the Trump path anymore at all. The leaks are distraction.
Did you read bullet point #5 in the memo? The investigation did not start with the Page FISA application.
Some think Papadopoulos and Manafort were Clinton plants. I wouldn't go that far.

It is more of validation of things we had heard were true but had not been vetted by our agencies ir Congress.
Focus on the big picture:
None of these memos are even necessary. Talk about a bunch of horseshit nonsense. If anyone thinks evidence was obtained illegally, they can fight it out in court. And if any evidence was illlegally obtained, it can get thrown out. If anyone believes their individual rights have been violated by unreasonable search, they can fight it out in court.
Which leads to the conclusion: obvious smear tactic to cloud an ongoing investigation. Talk about desperation.

That's true, but I was hoping there was much more to it, based on all the hype that's come out from both sides. National security at risk? Only thing I can tie to that would possibly be the DOJ having to have solid evidence to get a FISA warrant, now that they knowingly misled them, but even that is reaching.
My personal opinion is that Obama, via Lynch were probably leading the charge, but nothing will truly ever be known. Obama was in a tough spot during the last election. On one hand, he wanted to protect his legacy (from Trump destroying it), and on the other hand, he likely hates the Clintons.
We're nowhere near ready for the bigger picture yet.
Carter already said this memo will help him immensely with his countersuit. Already in play.

This. When all you can do is put out an opinion piece to the public then you don't have much. Trump/Repubs praying for some kind of uprising over this and they're going to get a lot of shoulder shrugs and blank looks. Every time Trump has tried the drawn out tease it has fallen flat and it will again.
