Was in Alaska recently, the locals say more people are killed by moose every year there than by bears. Apparently they knock you down and stomp you.
We saw a couple in the wild and kept our distance.

Saw a couple of moose alongside the roads in Anchorage, AK a few years ago. Yes, right inside city limits.
In my experience moose are usually not that aggressive unless you have a dog with you - they hate dogs- or it's rutting season, when they are real psychopaths
