That stat last night about the lack of 4-5 stars hits even harder. We’re not just getting beat. We’re getting extremely out coached and out hustled week in and week out. Good for IU for just having bigger hearts and brains then everyone else.
Next it will be posts about how we should only go after the old "diamonds in the rough"
Yes! Finally a thread that shows how Rhule could be more like Cignetti! I’ve been waiting for that!!!
Maybe if you post the same thing another 37 1/2 times, I’ll finally see the light. You either have to be Julie or have legitimate Stockholm Syndrome. I've never, in all my years, seen someone try to defend the indefensible as badly as you do. It's truly mind-boggling.
Yeah and Hoiberg will never figure it out after his lousy first 3 seasons. Since Mike Krzyzewski was still coaching and was clearly better than Hoiberg, we should have fired him.Thinking that rhule will "figure it out" is like iowa fans think that their coach will finally "figure it out" after 30 years. They are who they are
Cool. Can’t every other team in the country say that? I guess other than Miami at this point. EVERY fan base has to be a bit befuddled with Indiana’s success compared to theirs. That stat last night about the lack of 4-5 stars hits even harder. We’re not just getting beat. We’re getting extremely out coached and out hustled week in and week out. Good for IU for just having bigger hearts and brains then everyone else.
So you are saying that Fred having 5 straight 20+ win seasons and a sweet 16 appearance is the same as what Rhule had accomplished?Yeah and Hoiberg will never figure it out after his lousy first 3 seasons. Since Mike Krzyzewski was still coaching and was clearly better than Hoiberg, we should have fired him.
Cigs just used the system to his advantage. They have an average age of 23 years old.
Don't be fooled. It's grown men playing against boys. Needs to be fixed
Maybe if Cignetti reads the way this board slobbers on his knob, he’ll walk out on Indiana so he can become the Messiah here.Cigs just used the system to his advantage.
I wish rhule did that.
We can hope!Maybe if Cignetti reads the way this board slobbers on his knob, he’ll walk out on Indiana so he can become the Messiah here.
Cigs just used the system to his advantage.
I wish rhule did that.
Matt Rhule rocks!We can hope!
Better than you dorks giving HJ's to Rhule...at least make him earn it.
This.So you are saying that Fred having 5 straight 20+ win seasons and a sweet 16 appearance is the same as what Rhule had accomplished?
Fred already showed that he could "do it".
LBJ has all of his eligibility left.Pretty soon you will be able to sign free agents from the NFL if they have eligibility left.
I don't see why not.
seems like wishful thinking at this point......Maybe if you post the same thing another 37 1/2 times, I’ll finally see the light.
He's a damn good coach. Proven commodity if you will. Rhule isn't even in the same stratosphere. That doesn't mean that I think we should change coaches....but make no mistake. I'd take Cignetti in a heartbeat. And so would 95% of the NU fan base.Maybe if Cignetti reads the way this board slobbers on his knob, he’ll walk out on Indiana so he can become the Messiah here.
but is that reality? He's a damn good coach. Proven commodity if you will. Rhule isn't even in the same stratosphere. That doesn't mean that I think we should change coaches....but make no mistake. I'd take Cignetti in a heartbeat. And so would 95% of the NU fan base.
No and not the point I was trying to make. Simply saying that Cig is greatness and Rhule is not. We have Rhule and we need to hope that he develops into something remotely like Cig. My point was in reference to people not comprehending why Huskers fans are envious of Indiana.but is that reality?
If this isn't a knock on Rhule, then wtf would be then ??If you look at the talent IU is putting on the field, it is impressive. Yes it might be coaching to some degree. It might be a better S & C program. IU has some dudes on both sides of the ball. Cig brought almost a full staff with him. Ruhle did not. Cig had a bunch of his former players come with him and Ruhle did not. You can tell there is a distinct difference in the intensity and attention to detail that Cig has. That is not a knock on Ruhle. Two different guys. Two different situations. Cig probably recruits better. We can sit here and piss and whine all day about IU but what needs to be done is a top down analysis of OUR program and where we are failing. I have serious doubts about the ability of the current AD to do that, but you never know.
High school rankings are all about potential. Rhule comes from a pre-portal coaching era when the name of the game was development of players with potential. The new game is to focus on guys who produced after high school. It takes the guesswork out of talent evaluation and leaves you less to do. There is only so much time in the day, so instead of developing players from scratch you can focus on getting already producing players to play as a team and perfecting your team strategies. Cignetti is playing Moneyball in football and all other coaches are like the other scouts in the room who couldn't see how "potential" is inefficient compared to finding realized production. The reality is Cignetti brought in great players in terms of actual production instead of caring about whether they rated 4 or 5 star "potential" back in high school. That stat last night about the lack of 4-5 stars hits even harder. We’re not just getting beat. We’re getting extremely out coached and out hustled week in and week out. Good for IU for just having bigger hearts and brains then everyone else.
Wow red highlights. "Two different guys, two different situations" Does THAT part of the post sound like a knock on Ruhle?.......So you think Ruhle has a keen attention to detail, on par with Cig? Or just spouting off?If this isn't a knock on Rhule, then wtf would be then ??
No, I think he does NOT have the same attention to detail as Cignetti. But you said "This is not a knock on Rhule" - does that mean you're ok with it ?Wow red highlights. "Two different guys, two different situations" Does THAT part of the post sound like a knock on Ruhle?.......So you think Ruhle has a keen attention to detail, on par with Cig? Or just spouting off?
Use the wrong account? Hate it when that happens! No, I think he does NOT have the same attention to detail as Cignetti. But you said "This is not a knock on Rhule" - does that mean you're ok with it ?
Truth is they should have fired Hoiberg after having 7,7, and 10 win seasons but the program sucked so bad that it was just as likely that Hoiberg would eventually do better compared to changing coaches yet again. I am stating to think that’s where the football program is at now.Yeah and Hoiberg will never figure it out after his lousy first 3 seasons. Since Mike Krzyzewski was still coaching and was clearly better than Hoiberg, we should have fired him.
There's a lot of untapped talent all over college football rosters. There are a lot of players who are big enough, fast enough, strong enough. If they weren't, they wouldn't be on a roster. But it usually takes a coach to mold that talent into a high performing football player. Being in the right spot at the right time, and knowing what to do and what your job is in every alignment and every variation that you see on the field. It's attention to detail, focus, and energy in every single snap. It's surprising how overlooked this is in producing great football players, and how average or below coaches produce average results exactly because they cannot properly teach and instill these things into their players. If you look at the talent IU is putting on the field, it is impressive. Yes it might be coaching to some degree. It might be a better S & C program. IU has some dudes on both sides of the ball. Cig brought almost a full staff with him. Ruhle did not. Who has Rhule developed? Johnson? we certianly aren't suddenly devleoping a bunch NFL Players , how many kids will get drafted this year? 1 ?High school rankings are all about potential. frost had 1 year of hc experience at the team that was basicly already built for him...as far as 95 greatness, that started slideing with solich..and now that college is basicly becoming the nfl..I don't a state of 1.5 million folks will be spending as much as states with 7 times the populationin regards to Hoiberg and Nebrasketball, My intention is to simply enjoy the view from the bandwagon while it lasts. I DEEPLY want Husker football to return to 1994-1997 greatnes. At this point I am not sure it will ever happen. The words that will forever haunt me is that if Scott Frost is unable to do it at Nebraska, no one ever will may be more true than ever. Yes it is the question of this era of Nebraska football, Did the enormity of the job mess sScotty my boy up or was the the beam of the spot light too bright? The heat from said spotlight thru the magnifying glass of the Scarlet and Cream colored glass torch Scott Frost?
The fan base has more patience with basketball than obviously football.Truth is they should have fired Hoiberg after having 7,7, and 10 win seasons but the program sucked so bad that it was just as likely that Hoiberg would eventually do better compared to changing coaches yet again. Remember what you thought about Minnesota in the 90s? Not much. They had been a powerhouse decades earlier. We are 90s Minnesota. The fan base has more patience with basketball than obviously football.
Basketball never has had much history besides winning NIT tournament and the football program is a blue blood that is going through it’s worse decade since Bill Jennings era.
Minnesota had numerous losing seasons in the 1950’s,1960’s,1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s 2000-2010.Remember what you thought about Minnesota in the 90s? Not much. They had been a powerhouse decades earlier. We are 90s Minnesota.
I'm ignoring bball as to not jinx them..seems to be working well...maybe the sign some 5* bball/football recruits in the futureThe fan base has more patience with basketball than obviously football.
Basketball never has had much history besides winning NIT tournament and the football program is a blue blood that is going through it’s worse decade since Bill Jennings era.
I think the lesson besides we need much better coaching. That stat last night about the lack of 4-5 stars hits even harder. We’re not just getting beat. We’re getting extremely out coached and out hustled week in and week out. Good for IU for just having bigger hearts and brains then everyone else.
