The most deceptive 1-point win in NU history.

Jackson-Davis is an awesome player. Schifino hit a million shots. Credit to them.

We put up 84 points at Assembly Hall! We found yet another way to win. Balanced scoring all the way around, a million steals, gumption down the stretch dealing with injury and foul trouble. First place in the Big Ten!

Welsh-Ryan should be absolutely rocking this week. Rutgers won't bring many of their own fans. Tough team but looking forward to a purple court.

IU is talking to themselves, but they're lucky they didn't lose by 10.

Huge W. NU looks confident. Looks like they're starting to shoot better, too. How far can this team go?

Hope Audige is okay. Our most important player
The thought crossed my mind today that he could get a triple double with points, assists and steals. On several occasions, he got his hand on the ball on D and disrupted the flow of the game, even though they didn't technically count as steals.

At the end I was a little more bothered by Berry fouling out. Great ft shooter, and we were splitting them.
I don't know. He was very aggressive, had a great game overall. Perhaps there is an upside to lessons learned about the success of playing more aggressively and the need to find the balance. Could be a real growth game for him.

I didn’t mean to fault him for fouling out - he’s playing at a high level. I meant I was nervous when he did foul out because of his value in end-of-game foulfests.

Berry had a solid game with a double double.

And it will be a really tough game. If there is a team in the conference that is better on D than NU it is RUT. If not it is close and RUT has tended to have a better O. It will be a real test

Great win. Senior leadership showed up big time today. A real team victory. The defense was tremendous even giving up 83 points. Turnovers made the difference. 6 steals by Audige. What is theNU record in one game? Go Cats!

I don't think Matt got any faster, but he has certainly been coached (and put in the work on his end) on where to be, where not to be, and how to defend.

The proof is in the pudding, he played 32 minutes with only one foul. That's inconceivable with where he was last year.

While Lowry helps, Battle and McIntire are also working with the players. It's a collective group.

I think it's obvious the chemistry of this team is really good this year, and they've been coached well by the entire staff. It is shaping up to be a special season. Just got to keep away the NUBBHUG* who has plagued the program for decades.

The NU record is 8, set by PBSenior, who apparently also had 7 a few times. (As reported by Eanet and McKinney on the radio call.)

Cappy is hilarious. Not like most of us got to read what each other thought. Like the bizarre three quarter shoot to end the game at one, those in the thread know this version doesn’t reflect the real thing. But with Twitter in better hands, guess the spin doctors need work somewhere…

Makes sense. I don't recall defense being a MacIntosh forte. I don't remember enough about Battle's game to know for him either. But, I guess either way it's different when you have young coaches who can still get down and play to show you what's up. I would have thought PBS would be able to show the players straight up how to do it.

Maybe the gods are smiling on us now. We got MSU down one of their top guys and then just got IU when they were missing their 2nd and 3rd best players. If Zach Edey catches a cold the morning of our game, we'll know we're living right!

I didn't know they counted the basket. I thought it was way after the buzzer. OP well taken and on the mark.

The annoying thing (for me at least), is the headline on the ESPN video is:

NORTHWESTERN SEALS VICTORY AS INDIANA CAN'T GET SHOT OFF IN TIME

So they make it sound like NU won by one and Indiana had a chance to win, rather than NU comfortably up four and letting Indiana take (and make) a 60-foot shot at the buzzer.
