Karen's drum skills still amaze me and her voice was like honey. The Carpenters.
Thanks for the reminder about them. I went looking for some of their songs because of your mention and hearing them brought back some memories from my early childhood. I never really paid attention to Karen's voice back then--at the time she was just background noise at the dentist office or the fabric store that my mom would drag us to, etc--but what a voice. The Carpenters.
Isn’t Little Feat opening?Tedeschi Trucks Band
Hoping to see them in Raleigh in October at Red Hat.
Saw Alice Cooper/judas Priest last saturday. first time seeing AC and thought he exceeded expectations. I knew about his shows and the performative aspects, so it wasnt a surprise/shock factor. He and the band just put together a great experience. Lot of energy and fun at a level I wasnt expecting. 5th or 6th time seeing JP and knew it would be good, but the last two times ('21 and '24), Rob was physically slow and lethargic. Head down, slow, plodding around the stage, reliance on teleprompter. Still hit the screams and vocals without problem, but he looked physically uncomfortable. But this year he was back. Physically moving around with more vitality and agility (as much as can be from a 75 year old). A stark difference from last year. That made me happy for him, and also made the show better. Best $25 ticket (for a large scale show) I've bought in years. Took my 14yo for his first show. Dont think he was impressed as I was hoping, but he enjoyed certain parts of each band. I expect the Nita Strauss close-ups on the screens will have the most lasting memories.
@Dlc83 how was the show (meant to ask way sooner)?Looking forward to seeing Ben Folds this Saturday at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. Splurged on great seats.
Love all three versions Springsteen/Smith/10,000M10,000 Maniacs - Because the Night
Rare instance where the cover is better than the original. No disrespect to Patti Smith the original is amazing too
