Good morning D-League ,It's 44 and raining in my neck of the woods today.A big cold front is coming into Kentucky so the temps are going to drop dramatically for the next week and may get some snow also.I absolutely love being retired, don't have to answer to no one but the man upstairs and the wife lol.I hope the Cats play well in Baton Rouge tonight. Everyone have a great day and be safe out there.

Our tolerance of the idiots who run this place is on par with our tolerance of Mark Pope. We know that both are unapologetically punking us but we keep sticking around, thinking that at some point it will get better.

Sunk cost fallacy I guess when it comes to remaining on this message board. Too many years around a community I love, but the people who are over us are clearly effing with our tradition and they don't seem to give a damn whether we like it or not.
Son of Saul - We are UK fans to the bone, we will always love and support UK regardless of how bad it gets and how long it lasts. I am a Saints fan since living in Nola in the 90’s, and we talked about the Saints being good all year until about the 5-6th week of the season. Then we started talking about how good we were going to be next year. We celebrate any and all wins and drank away the loses. Things will get better, you just have to wait it out and hope it’s not as long a wait as it was for the Cubs. Go Cats!

JQ out again. Not liking what I'm hearing either. Next man up. Actually they played better against Mississippi State without Lowe and JQ. We'll see.
We are better off without him. He isn't ready and he doesn't seem willing to risk his draft stock to shake off the rust. Could say more but that will do. Hope everyone is doing good. Bad weather headed to my neck of the woods tonight. Hope the power stays on.

Good morning folks. Overcast and cool -not cold -in DC. Rumbling into the city on the Red Line subway train.

Cats play tonight. I can’t lie, my interest in college basketball and particularly this team of limping millionaires is at the lowest point since 1965-1966 when dad took me to see Riley, Connelly, Dampier, Kron and the rest of Rupp’s Runts. Maybe this team will find some magic and bring me back to the joy I felt for so many years.

Struck me late last night that it was the 35th anniversary of when I arrived up with the Big Red One on the Saudi-Iraq border in preparation for writing about Desert Storm. I know Austin and Warrior were up that way. I asked to be with the division’s screening unit, so I spent many days up with the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment. The Quarter Cav. Interesting times.
We have talked about the Bernard Fall book Street With No Joy. Someone on another thread talked about a road with no joy and I thought about this. I spent some time at DaNang. There was a guard post where you could see an old French graveyard. The runway was close by with planes taking off and landing all night every night. There was a few hills between the guard tower and the runway. The sound coming through the hills was eerie, like in a ghostly movie. People claimed to see ghostly images of French soldiers. Thought you might appreciate it.

I have two out in my garage and one of them is an old Crosley Shelvador from the late 1930’s. It had been in my Mom’s garage for years and she inherited it from her Father in law who purchased it new. Still works great and to the best of my knowledge it has never been serviced.
That be Crosley Field Powell Crosley Jr. Nothing before or since like the Crosley outfield terraces. Ahhhh........
