Bert's daughter sent this and I wanted to share it with his D-League friends. "In honor and in memory of my Dad, Bert Higginbotham, we have installed a 30’ flagpole and display the American flag and University of Kentucky flag. This became a reality due to the kindness and thoughtfulness of my Humana work family."

Memorial.to Bert Higginbotham.

Morning D-Leaguers!

Missed the game for the second time in a row because of prior commitments. I might start doing that every time since it seems to work out for us. Watched the replay and was happy enough.

Helped test students from another Karate school and it turned out bigger than expected. Instructor of that school now wants to merge with ours. Not sure if our instructor wants to but we'll see. The sparring was pretty good all around. One busted lip and nose, but no real damage.

Have a couple of football games on today which will take up some of my time. Caught the second half of the Bills and Broncos after I got home. Good game.

You folks enjoy the day and God Bless.

Good morning from Plant City, FL. Just returned from 3-mile hike with little brother and his lovely wife. Currently 66°F, cloudy and beautiful. I'm wearing shorts. Little brother and wife wearing wind breakers. Heh,

How about our Cats yesterday! Woo Hoo! So happy about beating Vols, I posted on Facebook just as I boarded plane right before take-off.

Enjoying life down here.

Y'all behave,

Good morning folks. Just back from church. Cold and overcast in the east -- we had some light snow during my run this morning.

What a great win for the Cats yesterday. Really outstanding. Two road wins in the SEC in a week -- that's putting in the work for any team, in any era. But the way the team foughtg for those wins makes me really proud to be a Cat fan today.

Really nice tributes to Bert linked above. Well deserved. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day.

Goooood Morning Legionnaires!

Ooh, that was old style wasn't it.

Colder day yesterday than we have had this season so far and today is set to be colder. Still only about 1 month into to winter season so, bundle up. The monster is loving it as she spends half her time outside. Walking her yesterday morning with a temp of 17° and gusting winds gave a wind chill factor or 1°. Yeah, I bundled up and she was good to go.

NCAA football championship game tonight. While I don't have a dog in the hunt, it is still Monday night football so... I will be tuned in. Don't care who wins.

You folks enjoy the day and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Hard at work, while most of those working for me are off because of MLK day.

The football season is down to four games, and I can't really root for anyone left. But I CAN root AGAINST Indiana, after a lifetime of hating the Hoosiers dating back to their obnoxious antics toward the Cats in the 1970s, when their arrogance and jealousy were both at peak levels. 35 years of deep mediocrity has curbed some of the arrogance, but the jealousy still eats them up, and causes them to lash out any chance they get.

On the NFL side, I guess I'm rooting for the Broncos, just to see them overcome the adversity of losing their QB on the next to last play of a playoff win. But I don't think they have much chance.

Watched four Kentucky road wins against Tennessee from my DVD collection yesterday. Amazing that the Cats have beaten them six out of seven in Rocky Top, where UT has an incredibly high win percentage.

I hope it is a good day for all of you.

Gooooood morning Legionnaires!

20° this morning with light winds. High near 50° with moderate winds.

Good game last night as the refs let them play without too many penalties. Some cheap shots without penalties too.

Back to work for the grinders (except @MdWIldcat55) he started yesterday.

Prayers for all of you experiencing health issues, may God place his hands on you and comfort you.

For all: May God Bless and keep you safe.

Good morning folks. Freezing in the east. Went for a pre-dawn jog, with the weather at 16F before factoring the wind, and I was chilled to the bone before I got home. Hands still a bit lacking in feeling after showering and riding the subway into DC.

Mixed feelings about the college football finale. Hate everything IU sports. But a fluke run by the football program won't really alter their historic collapse as a basketball school. At least that's my belief until proven wrong. And maybe this shakes things up so other have-nots like Kentucky are motivated to do something better than the mediocrity weve been subjected to.

Gotta settle into the work day. I hope it is a good one for all of you.

Work is all I know, especially since I started working for myself 43 years ago. I recall one night a couple of days before Christmas, I was loading a customers truck till 10:00 pm so he could head back to Florida. I got to the shop at six the next morning and a guy was asleep in his cargo van waiting for me. At 78 and semi retired, I still work 40 plus, but more on my own terms. I guess I dont know how not to work.

Good morning everyone.

I have to get busy making sure we're ready for the storm. I'm without my SxS and snow plow so there's a good chance we'll be here for a good while. If the propane delivery happens by Friday we're good for a month even without power. If not, well it might get a bit chilly. They're still calling for up to about 20" here.

Can we have a decent first half tonight and actually lead at the break? I haven't watched Texas this year so I'll have to do some research today before the game.

Go Big Blue!

Good morning folks. Sitting on a stalled subway train. The autistic guy with Tourette’s syndrome who sometimes takes this train sat directly behind me and is shouting out nonsense phrases and syllables. I feel really bad for the guy. I feel bad for me.

Another chance for the Cats tonight. My confidence is building but not yet high. The strategy of falling behind by 17 points then winning in the last 1.7 seconds is okay, but maybe not sustainable for a whole season.

Train finally moving. You all have a great day.
