Gooooood morning Legionnaires!

A frigid 7° this morning with wind chill pushing it to -20°. Snow stopped falling and we ended up with about 2 inches maybe a little more. Weather to stay below freezing for the next 5 days or more.

Going to settle in and do nothing all day except watch a couple of football games. May attempt a walk of the monster if the wind chill dies down.

Hope all are safe and warm and praying for those who are sick and those who also are out in this mess.

God Bless you all.

Good morning folks.

We've gotten about six inches of snow so far, but its still coming down hard. May have as much as a foot by this afternoon. I'm in no hurry to start my shoveling. Since I've no place to go, let it snow, let snow, let it snow.

Cats pulled another one out of the bag. That Chandler shot was a pure jolt of adrenaline. We've had a lot of those in the past two weeks. Not sure how long this team can live on the narrow ledge of last minute heroics but its been fun while it has lasted.

My son is weighing a US FIsh and Wildlife job in Fairbanks, Alaska. Oh boy. I lived up there for four months while working on the Trans Alaska Pipeline in 1976 - part of it around Fairbanks. I'm not sure he knows what he is getting into, but I guess a lot of us have been there in our younger days -- signing up for something and dealing with the reality of what that meant later. I'm not going to try to discourage him, if he decides he wants to go.

Hope you all have a great day. Stay warm.

Good morning everyone.

I haven't been out yet (letting wife sleep as long as possible) but we got about an inch or two of snow and just a bit of ice on top. We are in the warmer section along the VA border and suppose to get mostly rain and in the low 40's. I'll wait until it gets warmer and get out and plow...hopefully it will come off the road/driveway pretty good. Still have power. :D

Well, 5 wins in a row...who would have thought that after the Missouri game? Tough stretch of games coming up, but at least we still have hope (well most of us). There were a couple of horrible no calls towards the end. It's difficult to believe anymore that there is not something up with the officials. I wonder if it is just disdain for the UK B-ball program or something worse.

It's going to get cold the next week or two....stay warm.

In Ashland, they were calling for 5 inches overnight and we only got about 2, but it is raining ice right now. Supposed to turn back to snow later. I went out and cleared a path to the garage and it is definitely heart attack snow. Very heavy. Everyone stay in and take care.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 20°F and sunny. High expected at 28°F.

Returned home around 7 pm last night from airport. Lots of flight cancellations.

@MdWIldcat55 : I'm sure you remember what a lot of old-timers told us over the years" "Do it while you're young". Good luck to him. He'll be fine.

Y'all have a good one and Go Big Blue!

Been to Fairbanks in the early 80's. Spent a month at Ft. Wainwright during Jan-Feb time frame. Got really cold during that time.

If I had known that was one of the categories.........I would have went to the monastery.........
You have to grow your hair long, grow a long beard, chew tobacco, lose some teeth, and tell tall tales of the days gone by and how disciplined we were back then. Plus, explain that you have lived as long as you have because of beer, jerky and shine.

Oh and don't forget to call your disciple "Weed Hopper"

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Baby it's cold outside... 11° with a wind chill of a -10°. I don't think anyone anywhere got the amount of snow that was expected, but most got some wintery mix that put ice down first then snow. We also got a wintery mix yesterday after the snowfall as well. I stepped out in the snow of about 2 1/2 - 3" inches and in some areas did not sink in until I got to the taller drifts. The ice on top made it stronger to step on. Luckily, so far, no power outages here.

You folks having to travel to work today be careful and God speed and blessings in your travel.

Good morning folks. We ended up with about a foot of snow. Temps down in the low teens now. I kept shoveling off and on all day yesterday, trying to stay ahead of it. This morning, with the forecast for clearing skies, I went out and removed the last couple inches from my front porch, walk and driveway. I was feeling pretty virtuous and ready to give my back a rest when my wife says, "Probably wouldn't hurt to shovel that pack deck and porch." As in the hundreds of square cubic feet of ice incrusted snow that weighed about 40 pounds a foot. Didn't need that much weight on the deck so I just finished that. My back is screaming.

Sitting down to a long work day. I hope it is a good one for all of you.

The Director said Saturday morning to bring the snow shovel from the garage.........I asked her if she was planning on shoveling the drive.......I spread salt........my back has already told me to not even think about shoveling.

Good morning everyone.

After getting my driveway/road plowed and looking good Sunday night it snowed another couple of inches and turned cold. So, back at it again later today. 7 degrees here but still have power and water.

My parents are stuck in FL. They visited a cousin of mine w/ terminal cancer and their flight back out was canceled Sunday night. They couldn't get a flight until Thursday. It is supposed to be 29 degrees in the Ocala area this morning so hope they enjoy the warm weather

Vandy is usually a tough game for us in Nashville. It's hard to predict how this team is going to play. It seems that everyone should know their role now so maybe they can turn the corner. A win tonight will make Saturday's game very interesting.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning D, anybody have any frost quakes in your area? Around 7 last night I heard a loud boom, I thought something happened to my neighbors, I've heard of them but last night was the first time I had heard one. We went to bed last night, it was 3 degrees, this morning it's14, heat wave came through!! They still have not plowed the main road or our street, hope they do soon!

Good morning folks. Getting into DC was a trip today. I weigh 210, and could not crunch through the thick layer of ice on top of the ten inches of snow, so any walking off shoveled areas was essentially on top of a rolling sheet of ice. Te roads had not been plowed so I basically sledded down a long hill at the end of my street. I'll never get back up if the plow trucks haven't made it to our neighborhood by tonight.

Cats with a road game in Nashville. In year's past a ranked Kentucky team would go in there and find it very difficult to win against unranked or lower ranked Vanderbilt teams. Hey, maybe this year will prove the reverse.

Stay warm if you can. And good luck with the chemo, Austin. I know from my daughter's decent experience that can be terrible or really terrible. I hope it is as endurable as possible.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 35°F and mostly clear. We could reach upper 60s before next cold front rolls in late this afternoon.

If Hogs win this coming Saturday, I fear an epic Rafters meltdown. Stay tuned.

Wishing y'all another great day.

Howdy folks. Coldest day yet in the east - right at zero this AM as I went out for a walk. Still many people who can't get into the office. It's like a ghost town here, which is fine with me.

Heading for Kentucky tomorrow to help look after my dad. WIsh me luck over the WVA mountain passes. I've been making this drive for nearly 50 years, and I've had some hair-raising experiences in winter storms. I'm getting too old to dig out of a snowbank I skidded into, or walk/hitchhike to the next town to find a tow truck.
