I am rather partial to flukes.......Bass Assassin in particular.....I have a bunch of them.......my friend uses a stick worm........he catches his share of fish......it has been so long since I've been....three years this spring......I hope to get her out soon....While I have many types of lures, I mainly use plastics here that I can run weedless. Stick-O-Worms being my favorite but frogs and creatures also do well. It was a frog I caught today's bass on. I run weedless at Ft. Sill because the ponds there are very grassy. I did however throw a Whopper Plopper at them early on.
Yes, I do believe they are nesting which would explain the lack of hooked bass. I felt a few bumps along the way that usually happens when lures hit their nesting spots so, it would suggest that that is what is happening.
