Morning Legionnaires!

65° this morning with 20 plus mph winds increasing during the day. Some gust up to 65mph expected. A while back my wife bought a car cover for her brother's car because he has been in Florida 2 years now this month (was supposed to come back a couple of months after to pickup his car) and the winds a week or so back just tore it up so I ordered a tarp (20 mil) off of Amazon with strong bungy cords to secure it with. I used to pull it in my shop with my hooptie every time a storm or high winds came, but that became a hassle and my shop is too full for two vehicles now. I have foam floor covering on the top of his car full length so, that should help if any hail comes down. We will see with today's winds if I secured it enough.

Baseball today as the BatCats have a chance to sweep Alabama. Also baseball tonight at 7pm central as the US takes on the Dominican Republic in a WBC semi-final game.

Well, that's all I have this morning so enjoy your day folks and God Bless.

Hello all,

I wanted to log on and share these with you. As My Darling and I were walking into church this morning as we got out of the car we looked up and saw these... A friend sent me the good one. I do have an Iphone but mine were the best I could take...

I was truly amazed. I have taken pictures with one on our steeple but to see this took my breath away for a minute...

I DO hope you can enjoy these...

May God Bless yours and your families day this Lord's Day...

Edit: HA, that last picture almost looks like AI but they "ain't"... I took the top two this morning and the other my friend showed me and sent me via text message... They be REAL!!! ;) (It is windy.)

Good morning folks. Ran in the rain this morning, and now back to work.

Cats' have a tough draw in the tournament. I feel a little flat about it this year, but once the games start I expect I'll be into it as always.

We're supposed to get some ferocious storms later today - like, tornado level storms. We'll see. I hope it is calm and clear for all of you.

Yeah MdW,

I have to go pick up the BB and the Little BB, They are out two hours early. I had work planned but am going to remove all the light items off our back patio in preperation for the "winds". Was going to my oldest girls house to finish up her work but that will be at the earliest Thursday now. My Darling has an appointment tomorrow and Wednesday plus we are getting our new front door Wednesday AM. (If we have a house left.) You can never tell about these "weather" people... So many variations.

We were in Korea three years and if the weather person said it was going to rain hard at 2:20 that day you had better put up your umbrella at 2:19. Uncanny how accurate they were... I actually focused on the weather forecasts...

Anyway, I DO hope the Cats can make a great showing this year...

Have a fine day all, and don't blow away! God Bless you and your families...

Morning Legionnaires!

Cold this morning when I woke up. 26° with a wind chill of about 17°. 46° for a high expected. The monster walk this morning was windy and chilly and the monster made it a long one. It will be just as cold tomorrow morning but warming up as the day progresses.

US defeated the Dominican Republic last night on a controversial 3rd call strike for the 3rd out in the bottom of the night US up 2-1 with a runner at third base. Yeah, it was a bad call, but what can you do. The Us is now in the WBC championship game Tuesday night vs whoever wins tonight against Venezuela and Italy. Italy gave the US our only loss of the tourney thus far.

Hey, you worker bees be careful out there today and God Bless.

A trucker was crossing the I24 Ohio River bridge near Paducah where bridge repair had narrowed traffic to one lane. He decided he was through with trucking, so he parked his truck, got out blocking all traffic and walked away. Emergency workers from KY could not access the truck. Finally cops and a tow truck from Illinois came in the wrong direction to tow the semi.

We had storms here in the Berg last night, we opened up our church basement at 8, we ended up with about 25-30 people there. We decided about 10:30 it looked like the all clear was given. We closed up the church and when I went out the doors to go to the car, aluminum siding was everywhere, the wind had ripped it from the front of our church over our porch!

Now the rest of the story. So one of our trustees contacted our insurance company to report the damages. The agent told him that they take the amount of coverage, then take two percent of that to get what our deductible would be, get this, our deductible is $69,000 dollars!!! I am hoping that he just misunderstood what he said, having a meeting with the agent in the morning!!! We pay over $10,000 a year for that!!!

World gets all kinds of crazy.

I remember about 40 years ago Soviet agents operating in USA pulled exact same stunt over bridge in California during rush hour. Chaos ensued.

Hello all,

Just am able to sit at my computer. Been at it all day. I AM thankful though. My Darling had her appointment. I will go into more details later but it looks like no surgery. She does have to have an injection or two but waiting for her MRI Thursday early AM to be sure. From MRI's from 2023 the doctor says no way he can imagine needing surgery and for just that I am thankful as is My Darling...

I DO hope all have had a good day. I am with MdW these temp swings are nearing crazy BUT, I know who holds tomorrow so I will shut my pie hole.... Yeah I wouldn't mind a good pie but that can wait. Have a goodun all...

Good morning all,

I am at my desk this fine cold morning. Waiting on this company to come install my storm/ security door. (I'd have done it myself except this is one of those 96" front doors. I cannot handle that alone.) (used to do that type work growing up among other types of work.)

Anyway, after that this afternoon My Darling has to get her stitches out. (Not a huge task but it is about 45 or so miles away so...)

The coffee is done I hear so, I am off for a cup. I should be around this morning... for a lull in the action...

Have a day that pleases you........

Man, getting those who speak English doing manual work now-a-days is sparse. Just amazes me...

I can never hire anything done as they do not care anymore.

I did service work for decades and it just "ain't" the way to do business....

Good morning Folks. Down in the high teens when I went for my pre-dawn jog. I hear we'll hit the 70s this weekend. Whatever.

My wife got called to NYC, catching the first train out of Union Station in DC this morning. Her favorite aunt is failing fast. My wife's an RN and has been making caregiving runs up there for a year now. This one feels like it could be crucial. Her aunt has had a fascinating life, ended up a senior VP for Exxon Mobile. It's never easy near the end.

Busy day at my work. I hope it is a good one for all of you.

Good morning, D, we had our meeting with the agent yesterday. So he explained everything to us and it looks like even homeowners insurance is going to be crazy before long!!! He said he thinks before long all insurance companies will go to the percentage deduction, a percentage of the value of your home and property. He even said that it might get to where the companies will make you buy a separate policy for wind damage like you have to for flood damage!! So now our church is going to have to buy another policy to reduce our deductible to $5000, it will pick up after 5,000 and go to the $69,000! Crazy! Small churches like ours don't stand a chance

Have full water service in kitchen since plumber installed new Delta faucet. Old Moen "touch flow" became a PITA. May have tackled the job back in the day, but no more.

Tomorrow get a new hole drilled in my head to allow tooth implant to protrude into sinus cavity. You don't want to know cost.

Pulled the trigger folks. Bought a 2026 Ford Maverick XLT in Norman Oklahoma yesterday. It was time. The hoopty is acting up and I am not going to spend any more money on it so... Still have the old F150 but that is my rough it up bump it around hauling and fishing truck. Basic black just like the F150. Told my daughter the F150 is The Black Knight, and the Maverick is The Black Knight Jr.

It will take some time figuring out all of the bells and whistles. I took a couple of hours gleaning over the owner's guide (did not come with manual) have to download that online. Nope, I went online and ordered one. Screw that online crap. I need one in the truck not on my phone or computer.

WC, we bought a new car last year, didn't have a manual with it, we ask if they could order one for us and they did. Might ask them if they would!

Right, wrong or indifferent.....we made the decision to self insure about 10yrs ago...........I built this place.......and I can build it again......I paid enough in premiums to equal what we paid for our house........We made one claim and they found a thousand reasons to not really pay.........I decided that I had had enough at that point........

Hello all,

Man I am whipped. Was driving in DC rush hour traffic for about five hours yesterday total. Then started taxi'ing my children. (My one daughter is sick.) Dad, I feel so bad... yadda, yadda, yadda... Anyway drove and drove until near 9pm.

Took My Darling to her MRI this morning at 0700. Got that completed, then My Darling started cooking for my children.... Yeah had to ferry the food AND medicine to my youngest.....

At least I got to give the BB his Papa medicine bag as well. (Several different candies that he likes.) The BB listens as far as how much he can have and when so I wasn't worried. The driving was worth it but this Ole boy is whipped. (Plus, they are digging under our four lane (actually) six lane intersection about 1000 feet from our house. Traffic is stupid to state the least....

In any event, I am thankful. Waiting on the wife's MRI results so I can get her the treatment she needs to feel hopefully tons better. She has been having it rough lately...

I hope your day is going very well! (And stays that way!)

Good Start to the tourney, with the Ohio State - Texas Christian game, unless you are a Buckeye fan, in which case I'd ask, "Why?"
Terrible last play drawn up by OSU coach Jake Diebler. You can't have a guy getting the ball going away from his basket 80 feet away with four seconds on teh clock.

I just realized watching the game he is the brother of John DIebler, the Ohio State guard on the 2011 team Kentucky upset in the Sweet 16 -- one of my all-time favorite games.

I kept watching the court for a glimpse of Billy Bob Thornton's daughter cheering for the Horned Frogs (Landman fans will get it.) Anyway, I had TCU in my brackets.

As a born and raised Michigander, a buckeye is nothing but a useless chestnut... ;) Remember well the Woody Hayes/ Bo Schembeckler wars in football..... I did love that rivalry... (Brother and sister still live in Michigan. I'm the baby brother.) (Need to make a trip but only in the summer...) ;)

Good morning everyone

Busy, busy, busy and a lack of sleep....ah, spring time.

Doing some volunteer work this morning but will make it back in time for the game. Excited, but nervous. We (Pope) need this win!

Have a great day.

Good morning folks.

Entertaining first day of the tournament. What does it tell one that mid majors beat North Carolina and Georgia and hung with Duke and Louisville until the end? That Kentucky better be ready to scratch and claw from the opening tip, or to join the list of big names beaten by no names. (I guess Calipari already taught us that with St. Peter’s and Oakland. Ugh.)

That said, Go Big Blue! The real fans need this lift. For Pope, it could be career defining end to a disappointing year if he loses. Win, and there’s still a chance to rewrite the story of this season. If you are looking for a positive sign, St Mary’s blew out Santa Clara in late February and lost a very close game to them in the conference tourney a week ago. And St Mary’s was overmatched by Texas A&M.

working from home today. Heading out for a run first. My wife is still up in NYC helping care for her aunt. That is looking like a move to hospice as a final transition is at hand. Tough times. Meanwhile, it is my father’s 95th birthday. He’s in bad shape physically but still sharp. We’re grateful for that.

You all take care.

Hello all,

Been up since around 7, workin, workin, workin,... heading out shortly to play delivery Dad and Mom. Me and My Darling going to go vote too while we are out.

Found out this morning, around the 15th of April all areas I have been working on in and for retirement should come to fruition, good or bad.... In ANY event, I am thankful. I have my sights set on a lot of other work and so many ideas I could not do them all in ten lifetimes. Again, I am thankful... I have tons to do and no end in sight as when one thing is finished ten more take their place.

Get it DONE Cats... Take this game and love it to the end... Do it to it....

On a sad note, lost Chuck Norris today but from all indications he is with the Lord.

He gave a lot of joy over the years being able to watch him on the big screen and once threw my brother out of the ring in Michigan in a tournament. It was a non-contact tournament and my brother knocked a guy out. (My brother was in his teens then, he is 74 now.) I was too young to remember and didn't attend my brothers functions but my brother doesn't lie and he was big into Tae Kwon Do...(Told me that story years ago...)
