Pelosi is not perfect but her hands were a bit tied. Any bill was going to have to pass in the Senate and McConnell was not going to let a bill like what she wanted pass. So she had to decide whether to hold out and leave Americans with nothing or compromise. There is simply no political will to hold fast. Too many people are hurting. As far as gambling in October and November, first of all Trump was telling the Senate not to pass anything until after the election so there is zero reason to believe that things would have been different.
Okay um, I will preface by saying I despise Trump. That being said, he tweeted one time about not allowing stimulus, then what an hour later was calling for the Senate to go bigger? Since then he's consistently called for bigger stimulus, sure it was just a political move but he would've done it because he absolutely loved sending out the first round checks with his signature on them.

And Pelosi was once again negotiating directly with Mnuchin to get something passed and she simply would not back down. Inadvertently or not she screwed us.

Given that the Republicans were pretty insistent that they would not go as big as the Dems wanted, I am just not sure why anyone thinks Pelosi could have gotten a better deal pre-election. And, even with Trump's about face and asking for a bigger deal, McConnell still said the Reps would not agree to that.
Interesting in the complaining about the foreign aid, the Republicans managed to put in the bill a tax deduction for so-called business lunches.

Since you're too dense an partisan to understand, we are complaining about BOTH republicans and democrats. You're too much of a hack to get it. This bill is a disgrace and both sides signed their name to it. Keep making excuses for the inexcusable.

If Trump was willing to push a stimulus and reached an agreement I find it unlikely the Senate would've went against him, considering they were still try to win elections at that point.

Not inadvertent she is on tape saying that she would not do anything before the election that would help Trump

I assume you have a job and perhaps have raised kids. Have you really found that calling them names gets you good results?

I’ve never met anyone like you, totally refuse to give an inch. It’s bad when someone we’ve been in heated disagreements with about politics here, is seeing what is going on. Yet you refuse to even acknowledge your party is at fault.

You just back up, and drive even harder forward. You’re unfortunately showing a side of you that is awful.

Dude, you need to hold a mirror up to your face. You are describing yourself.

Oh Queen, I ain’t playing politics. They all make me sick. You continue to think your party is superior, even as the walls are caving in on your personal delusional opinions.
Try looking at things for how they are, not how you’ve been wired to believe. This IS BOTH PARTIES. Your eyes are closed, and what’s worse is, the only one keeping them closed is you.

Yeah, I know. However even if someone chooses to believe she did so inadvertently, she still screwed the pooch. That's what I meant. As someone who is as liberal as they come it's impossible not to see the failings of our leaders on both sides.

I am sorry but I refuse to blame both sides equally. Pelosi said she did not want do anything to help Trump? That's politics and also well deserved. Remember McConnell saying it was his job to make sure Obama never got a piece of legislation through? Or when he stole a Supreme Court seat? Then, despite the fact that Kentucky takes in more in federal taxes than its citizen pay, he refuses to release money for states and cities that have gotten hammered, claiming that that would be a Blue bailout. Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth and hating a large percentage of your country! We just spent four years with an administration that could give a rat's *** about Democratic issues and ran roughshod over democratic norms, all of which was enabled by McConnell. Those several hundred thousand deaths? That was not on the Democrats. I firmly believe the the country could not have survived four more years of Trump and the majority of Americans agree with me, as shown by a seven million vote margin for a guy who the best you can say is "he is appropriately white," which was one of my African-American friends said. I recognize the bill is a disappointment but the Dems are the minority in the Senate so there is only so much they could do.

@durhamgolfer keeps digging her heels in. What a f n shame. To be so rigid in your thinking. People like her are reasons our country is in the shape it’s in.

What a sad, pathetic lady.

You don't have to blame both sides equally. I certainly don't, however I also hold Democrats to a higher standard. Pelosi and Schumer fell well short of that standard. McConnell is little more than moldy fecal matter that has sat in the sun for too long. So when he pulls ********, I totally expect it. However when a Den pulls it well, man I either supported or voted for you and you just screwed me over, can't expect me to be happy about that.

It is true that without Dems we would be seeing zero stimulus, however what we did get amounts to little more than a sieve on a slug wound to the heart.

It is apparent that her only hope is that liberal politicians stick it to conservative politicians for all the evil they have done, than actually govern for we the people. Talk about tone deaf. This isn't about political pissing matches. This is about helping every day people who are struggling to keep afloat and giving the American people a relif bill that helps everyone in need. Not put our future generations further in debt by giving money to special interests and foreign countries with no details on how the money is going to be spent. All while giving the crumbs to the people they've labeled as non essential and ripped their livelihoods away.

Sad indeed.

Easy now, don’t let @durhamgolfer reel you back in. We were just pulling you out of Fantasy Land, so please don’t relapse.
She’s a slick one, can’t let her get her claws into you.

Let me take this time to go sappy on you. I am not a religious person and I am not a person who places importance on feelings. But as it is Christmas time and it doesn't really matter what your moral beliefs are with the holiday. It is a good time to put differences aside and acknowledge that we are all just one person and nothing makes our life more important than the next guy's. I give best wishes to all and hope life is good for everyone.

Merry Christmas

But why not $1 billion dollars to the restaurant industry? Why not $130 million to local retail stores not considered essential? Why is it that the everyday people are suffering while politicians live luxurious lives? Though it happens under Trump's watch, he is not to blame for it. This has been going on for decades. He isn't powerful enough to defeat the established politicians despite his arrogant belief that he was. Now the republican politicians that have turned their back on him will be called noble and decent. And the ones that stick with him will be called conspiracy theorists and nut jobs.

Yeah, as arrogant as Trump is, I don’t think he realized just how big the swamp was. There’s some I believe in his own circle that are loyal to the Establishment.
Too many in politics are hooked at the hip to interests groups, and don’t want to lose the paydays they get. Maybe it’s out of fear, maybe they’re cowards, or maybe they’re sell outs, I don’t know.
But they aren’t suffering, too many Americans are.
