NFC and AFC championship picks? I'm sticking with Packers/Chiefs. Though I am holding out hope for a Bucs/Bills Super Bowl at this point.

Going back. I didn’t watch the speech until now that got Trump impeached a 2nd time...And he said let’s “walk down to the capital and peacefully protest” NOW I’m even more convinced this is waste of energy, given we’re talking about 1 day of impeachment before Biden takes office. Sooo the only logical conclusion I can come up with is they’re scared, stupid, and corrupt. I don’t much get it...somebody enlighten me
Liberals want to make sure that Trump will not be able to run again

I don’t even need to read the article to agree with the headline. Working from home has made it even harder to tune out.
My wife and I stopped watching the world news early last year. Probably should have stopped sooner than that. All negative. I know 2020 had a lot of negative news, but even before the unrest it was bad. People need reason for hope, and you're just not getting it from the news programs. No matter how much it seems like it, the world will never be only doom and gloom. But they cling to any story that creates the most outrage and they keep pounding it and pounding it into everyone's minds until they've reached their desired boiling point and then they pound it some more.

Like now, it's the Capitol story. As bad as it was. It was not a long term event. That's not to say that it can't repeat itself. But they keep driving the story down our throats because they know It keeps the anger and the tensions high. It keeps the dividing forces going. They've set the stage for people to vilify anyone who was in D.C. that day and categorize them with the people who were there causing harm and participating in the chaos. For instance. How many videos have you seen of people pleading for them to NOT go into the capitol? How many videos have you seen of people pulling others back who were attempting to break windows on the Capitol building? For God's sake, even Alex F'ing Jones was begging people not to go into the Capitol. Did you see that video? You probably haven't seen many of these videos. But it's damn sure not because they don't exist. It's because they don't want you to see them. They want you to believe that every Trump supporter, every conservative and everyone who has legitimate concerns about the election is your enemy. And a few of you ITT view it as such. It's sad.

Anyways. Not everyone who supports the conservative party is evil. Not everyone who doesn't support the progressive platform, especially on the social side, lacks empathy. If you can remove the news from your life for just a few weeks, you'll start thinking with your own mind again. Just my thoughts.

We could have had a moment where we both were in agreement and then you wrote this. The last sentence was particularly patronizing and incorrect. As hard as it is to believe, I don't think all conservatives are evil. As for the Progressive platform, I think that if it had been touted from a white man rather than a young attractive Latina, you might feel differently. In any event I have always thought with my own mind; I j just have come to conclusions different from you. For instance, the Capitol story. It is by no means a short term event. The fact that the people who stormed the Capitol allowed themselves to believe Trump's lies about a stolen election and the thought that breaking windows and ransacking offices was justifiable is frightening and we as a country need to figure out how to prevent this from happening. This was such a scary moment that even McConnell, who has basically allowed Trump to get away with well everything, said that Trump whipped that mob up and encouraged this shows you just how serious this is. That you refuse even to acknowledge that or recognize the role a President of the United States played in exciting mob violence to me seems like you are not using your own mind.

Thinking with your own mind was a rhetorical statement, not an insult directed at you. You're such a victim. Also, what the hell are you talking about in regards to the white man vs the young latina?

As to the first part, ********. As to the second, AOC is the one pushing a so-called progressive agenda and she has become a lightening rod for all things Democrat. Everyone has biases, no matter what and I am calling out the people who have unnecessarily attacked her and have failed to recognize that she is smart and does her research. I bet had a middle-aged white guy been promoting what she is, the plan would have been better received.

Nobody is this stupid. This is an act, right?

One, my entire post was a general statement based on my thoughts and my experience. Do you think I would have a problem telling you that I was talking about you if I was indeed, talking about you?

And I should have known you were talking about the over-educated bartender. Another incredibly stupid presumption. She wasn't even a thought in her mother's life and her mother wasn't a thought in HER mother's life when the progressive platform was started by... wait for it... A MIDDLE AGED WHITE GUY!!! Holy ****! But of course I don't agree with it because I am a white man and AOC is an attractive young latina. Hahaha. You are a fool. Go take a nap.

Wait. I wasn't talking about you when I made the reference to the way AOC has been treated (although your response shows should be put in that category). Stop playing the victim.

I say that nobody is this stupid and you take it as an opportunity to prove me wrong. I love it.

AOC is not an."over-educated bartender", she is simply a firebrand and that rubs some people the wrong way. Even though I don't agree with everything she says or how she goes about things she's certainly intelligent, passionate amd deserves as much respect as anyone else.

That being said I don't think her being a young woman of color is the sole reason she gets such a bad rap, it certainly part but lets not kid ourselves and pretend like Bernie Sanders doesn't get plenty of hate for being progressive. And he is pretty much the prototype old *** white politician, other than his viewpoints.

The media is pissing down their leg with excitement. States will start to open back up, paving the way for Biden/Harris to get the praise. Anything that appears to not favor what will happen, will get blamed on Trump.

Damn great situation for Biden to be in. Media will protect him and her as great leaders.

God help us all.

Apparently God did help us, by giving Biden 306 electoral votes.

States are going to start opening back up, not for awhile still but it will happen when we actually get this vaccine distributed.

I mean. I get people being happy that Trump is gone. But better than a Duke natty? C'mon man.

The only thing I would be more excited for than a Duke natty is a Raiders Super Bowl win. Of course, I don't equate sports wins to political wins either, since I've never experienced a political win I was that happy about in my lifetime, haha Glad to see Trump gone, nervous about the future. My hope is Biden truly does calm and unite. I just don't see it happening with how divided we are right now. My hope is the economic relief comes quickly and often. Again, I doubt it. Even with control of both the senate and the house I have little faith things are going to get truly better under Biden. I'd love to be wrong though.

Not a bad post. The media is the problem. And I have no faith in Biden. He’s a career politician, 47 years, and will just be a puppet for the establishment. Things won’t get better. They truly don’t care about us. You guys think I’m crazy for saying this. But it’s true. They get wealthier, and continue to divide us.
Like I said, both parties sold us out decades ago.

A spray painted turd is still a turd. Politicians are worse than a turd.

I definitely think Fox News and MSNBC are two sides of the same coin. Each pushes the agenda of "their side", but in the end it's all the same ********. The media you choose to watch is the problem of the individual who views it though. I try to avoid echo chambers. Scheerpost, The Hill, Common Dreams, Democracy Now!, and a few others are outlets that aren't afraid to call out how ****** both sides are. They have people on all sides coming in with their perspective, they fact check, and challenge the establishment. I would suggest listening to Chris Hedges. You might not agree with everything he says, but I bet you would agree with him more often than not. His book, "America: The Farewell Tour" is one of the best and most depressing books I have ever read in my life.
