Virtue signaler We’ve known for months that outdoor transmission was virtually nonexistent, that children were not effective transmitters of this virus yet Mask Theater 2021 continues nonetheless
I’m not going to go back and do the research again a second time. I’ve also spoken with a couple doctors that have worked directly with him in the 70s and 80s, who went into great detail. Research the stuff he botched on HIV/AIDS if you genuinely are interested in his background. His flip flopping on covid is abhorrent and dangerous. People hang on his every word like it’s gospel, so he has a responsibility to be honest at all times (as any doctor would be). He’s trying to take credit for the vaccine while weirdly saying we won’t be back to normal until, his latest, next Mother’s Day?!? Give me a break dude. People need to stop giving this guy air time. Listen to your own personal physician and make your own decisions.

I agree a lot with what you said about the mask wearing and situations....but to the wearing on the sideline and spacing the bench.....everybody on the bench don't partake in the game (trainers, coaches, and etc...) and come in contact with those from the other side, but they do come in contact with players that interact with the other side on the court and come back to the bench.....fair?
You never showed the data behind your claim that vaccinated people can catch and spread the virus.
Doctors have been saying this from the start. The vaccine reduces the symptoms so that the disease is not as deadly or dangerous as without. The CDC has this caution on its web site.

Yes. I do want to know where people get their claims from. Rather then just calling someone an idiot, which seems to be the preferred method of debate, I start by recognizing that I don't know everything and give people the respect of examining their claims. I am baffled as to why that creates such angst. BTW, The NY Times has an article today about the hundreds of epidemiologists who disagree with the CDC's new mask guidelines. They feel that people, even those fully vaccinated, should continue to wear masks outside.
So, the guy who knows how to play the game has had himself marginalized and humiliated by the previous president in order to defend a practice that has no basis in science? Really? It is not like he is the only virologist who argued in favor of masks. As I noted in an earlier post, today the NY Times had an article about the vast number of doctors who completely disagree with the CDC's most recent policy suggestion concerning wearing masks. While there have been few cases of outdoor transmission, the Hasidic community created a super spreader event when they were outside in close quarters singing together without masks so there is certain behavior that leads to outdoor transmission. It is easier to tell people to wear masks outdoors than to tell people that it is ok in certain circumstances to keep the masks off. I do agree that wearing masks on the sidelines was ridiculous and nothing more than attempt by the NCAA to appear to be doing something but as for wearing a mask when you walk into a restaurant, it makes good sense. It is often difficult to socially distance in the entrance to a restaurant where people are waiting to be seated. Thus mask wearing. Of course when you get to your table, then you are with the people you came with and don't pose as much danger to others who are further away. Of course, the qualification is that the restaurant have the appropriate air filters. In other words it is not a joke at all.
First thing about this virus is that there is a ninety nine percent survival rate.Secondly after vaccination anyone who gets it has little chance of it it being serious.This is about control and power and the only reason that CDC came out with the no mask mandate was to take pressure off of the Biden train wreck of a Presdency
With all due respect, i have no idea what you’re talking about here. It’s literally all over the place and didn’t address either of the two points i made. 1. Fauci is a con artist and irresponsible hack, and 2. Masking while vaccinated is a joke that the cdc finally admitted.
You replied to my first post for a second time as if something changed with what i said, and 2/3 of your response has either nothing to do with what i said or you made up/misrepresented what i said, which i thought, i was pretty clear.
The restaurant mask example- you can believe whatever you’d like. Blame it on the social distancing and air filters. An MIT study, i recall from a month or so ago, completely debunked that theory. Basically saying the virus will find you no matter where you are indoors.
I had asked for your sources for your claims and when you told me that you could not be bothered and I should check myself, I went ahead and pointed out some of the flaws in your argument. I am not sure what you don't understand. Your claims about Fauci being so smart that he could play the game through seven administrations don't make sense in like of what happened during Trump's presidency. I guess his political acumen left him? Or maybe he believed strongly in what he was saying and refused to enter the Potemkin village that was what the Trump presidency became. And, he was not the only one who advocated for masks. There are hundreds of epidemiologists who agree with him. I also took a look at the MIT studies and the one on indoor transmission was criticized for failing to correctly take into account how the disease is transmitted. Interestingly, though, the MIT scientists talked about how hard it was to get ahead of the virus as they were constantly learning more. Perhaps that is why Fauci has changed his mind and his advice. As a good scientist, he has continued to learn more and has adjusted accordingly.
I also have to stay that I am completely baffled by the incredible anger around wearing masks, anger that is apparent in your posts. It is one more piece of clothing that is easy to buy and easy to wear and yet people carried on like they were being asked to sacrifice their first born. It is not as if the government is forcing you to carry a pregnancy to term whether you want it or not.

There is zero scientific evidence that masks slow the spread of covid. There is tons of anecdotal evidence that they don't do a damned thing.
I have seen people holding up signs saying "Our bodies, ourselves" and "Our bodies, our choice," clearly trying to co-opt the slogans from the right-to-choose movement. That is one of the "stupidest" stunts executed by an increasingly stupid element of society. My point stands. Many of the people who have worked to shut down clinics and want to defund Planned Parenthood -- even though the percentage of abortions provided is less than 3% and is not funded by federal tax dollars (thank you Hyde Amendment) -- are outraged that the government is making them do something with their bodies. Never mind that wearing a mask is a benign corporeal requirement. Never mind that wearing a mask helps slow the spread of the disease. They have to do something and they don't like it. Imagine being a woman who, thanks to these misogynistic nimrods, has to carry a pregnancy to term, or more pointedly is forced to have a fetus grow inside her body for 9 months. And the argument that abortion is murder does not really carry the day here. First, not all religions believe life begins at conception so this is a theoretical debate. But, taken at face value, the woman is only killing one person whereas a super spreader who refuses to put on a mask poses a lethal risk to countless numbers of people.

A damp cloth. Gave an example of a man with a severe cough on an airplane wearing a mask and how 25 people in close proximity tested negative for covid. If you believe that really happened, I am sorry for you. There is absolutely no scientific evidence provided in that article or studies cited in the article. It is all anecdotal evidence and based on very limited and selective examples. Again, you and many other suckers listen to political science, not science.

I also wasn’t trying to start a discussion about the ethics of abortion but rather to call out the hypocracy of the anti-maskers, who insist that a mask mandate is a regulatory bridge to far even though this country continues to enact laws that dictate what a woman can do with her body.

Anecdotal evidence is not scientific evidence. This god awful article claims that the protests didn't seem to cause a spike in cases. What it doesn't mention is the protests just so happened to start a week or two prior to the second surge in cases. Also didn't mention that there wouldn't be a reliable way to say one way or another because it was ordered that the people conducting contact tracing not ask if people testing positive attended protests.

The funny thing is you don't know me from Adam's house cat yet you are able to pass judgement on me. You are not there as I work with at risk youth. You are not there as I work in a food pantry to help families in need. You are not there as I try and help people because they have truly found themselves at a place in life where they need help in getting back on their feet, but because I dare disagree with your politics I become the scary person. The left needs a boogeyman to justify their claims.
