Seriously? This proof from 6 years ago shows that her mother raised her to be proud of her black ancestry. That should show you that there was public acknowledgment that she has identified as black for years.

Nobody ever claimed that she didn't have a black father. Or that she wasn't part black, obviously. But SHE never used being black to benefit her until it was useful. She always used her Indian heritage to be the first Asian this, first Asian that. I'm over it. No use and continuing to talk about her race. Let's talk about her policies that will better our country and what she has done over the past 3 years that gives us hope for the next 4.
You can't prove the nonexistence of things. The burden of proof is on you to prove that she is a DEI hire. Unless you're arguing that every woman or/and BIPOC is a DEI hire for any job, stating her factual accomplishments and qualifications is all I have to do to discredit your claim, and I've done so. If then candidate Biden had chosen someone solely for those reasons, you would have a point. As she was already qualified and her race and gender together was a tie-breaker, at worst, it's no different from picking a 39-year-old fake hillbilly from a swing state in hopes of appealing to young people, carrying that state, and passing the torch to the most zealous acolyte. Or choosing the Black Senator from SC to chip into the Democratic stranglehold on the Black vote. Or the moderate female gov from SC in an appeal to moderates.
There's strategy behind EVERY VP consideration. Making a big to-do about Harris is rooted in her gender and race. Turning a blind eye to strategy as it applies to Vance and every other white man is bigotry.
What's racist is how BIPOC could never be considered for a variety of positions for over 200 years. Making sure they are considered now and that they are represented now is neither racist nor a bad thing. In context, it's absolutely a good thing.

How many better candidates were passed over for Vance? As Datt pointed out, VPs are picked for a number of reasons including age (Bush/Quayle), gender (McCain/Palin) geography etc. It is similarly true that historically most white collar or policy jobs go to white men. How many women and people of color have been passed over who were better candidates. Now that white men are finding themselves less and less at an advantage, they are complaining that skin color is taken into account.
