The new, true, ACC

Imagine a new rule requiring ACC members to be in a state that actually has an "Atlantic Coast." Gone are Louisville and Notre Dame. Good riddance, says the Committee. Pitt gets a temporary pass, since PA does have the Delaware Bay, which is pretty close, but that is still open for debate.
So, Board Members: Who are your candidates to join the new ATLANTIC COAST Conference? We need at least two, and three to make it a sixteen team league.

Elon and Wofford. That will make it fair so every one will have to plan at least one or two true tough road games just like unc cheater u.

We are poaching no one from the SEC. Football is king, so it is not happening. UCF would make some sense. They play in a lesser conference and would benefit from the greater exposure. (think of Utah to the Pac12 or TCU to the Big12). The only others that could make sense are Maryland (I know that would be very unpopular for Duke fans) or Rutgers. Those teams make no sense in the Big10. "Trading" Notre Dame and Louisville to the Big10 for Maryland and Rutgers, then add UCF, gets the ACC to 16 and makes more geographic sense while requiring some semblance of a football program.

If we have to trade in the scenario Maryland coming back would make the most sense and maybe UCONN or St Johns

You're basically only left with UCF, USF, ECU, and Uconn when you factor in the Atlantic Coast and Football stipulations (with the correct assumption that we can't raid the SEC). I don't think any of us would want Uconn in the league. Beyond those four you would have to start dipping into Conference USA and The Sunbelt and I don't think any of those schools are worthy of ACC consideration (FIU, FAU, Charlotte, App St., Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Georgia State).

So my answer would be UCF, USF, ECU but they would all be doormats and the ACC would suffer because of it. I would much prefer to not give two f's about an Atlantic coastline.

Maybe they identify as states with an ocean border.

I’d like to see ECU added to the mix. All these Pirate fans talking of how they’d run the football table in the ACC. I say bring it on!!!

ECU is not very good at all in football right now. I can see if they did move into the ACC they could be better in football and actually could compete given them a few years to recriut. As far as basketball goes cellar dwellers every year. OFC

I can see Rutgers. No Maryland. They gave up the right as well as South Carolina. Some mentioned UCF. Maybe. Does St. John's have football? I never have noticed. I'm not excited about UCONN but I would accept them. Not a lot of other schools on the Atlantic coast. I guess I would say Rutters for sure and one of the Florida schools mentioned. OFC

True but ND isn’t a football member

And that's the main reason I don't care for ND in the ACC . All sports or none at all . I'm just a throwback man. I think 14 (15 in basketball ) teams is too many although I do understand the reason why. I like 10 . Then it would be easier to play everyone twice in basketball . I don't think 18 conference games is too many. It would take away from Duke two cupcake wins every year and put them more in line with that murderous schedule unc cheater u plays every year Duke would have to play two more true road games every year. In football teams would play every one once and Duke could still schedule Army and North Carolina Central every year for their football cupcakes. In football there could still be two 5 team divisions and we would still have the conference championship game. I know it ain't gonna happen though but here's my ACC conference. Duke, unc cheater u, NCSU, WF. G.T. Clemson, FSU, Miami, UVA and V.T. Still strong programs in both football and basketball for that matter all sports. Sorry Pitt.,Syracuse, B.C. UL and ND. You would be picked post by major conferences and as for ND they could go back to that independent island . OFC
