As many of you have noticed over the years, I'm pretty careful about what, or how much, I disclose about my personal life. And, I rarely disclose things about moderating the board.

However, if I plan to be away for an extended period of time, I do like to inform folks, so they know the plans.

One of my kids is getting married on Saturday. I'm not sure how much I'll be on the board this Thursday or Friday (7/10, 7/11), but it will be less than the norm. I may check the board a time or two on Saturday, from my phone, but it's more likely that I will be totally off the board on Saturday.

On Sunday, after dealing with the next-day breakfast gathering, and dealing with relatives, I'm headed off on vacation for nearly 2 weeks, so I'll probably be off the board that day as well. I'll be checking the board at times during my vacation (mostly mornings or late evenings), but will not be around anything like my normal amount.

I was concerned about being away from the board for an extended period so soon after the On3 - Rivals merger. However, things have been surprisingly stable on this board with regards to that.

The BWI guys know that I'll be away, and will be checking the board more than usual.

If you need something attended to, but there's no rush on it being addressed/you receiving a response, just tag me in the post. (To do so, type @Tom McAndrew)

If politics breaks out in a thread, or other inappropriate content is posted, or you need something dealt with in a more immediate timeframe (issues with your subscription, problems accessing parts of the site, issues with the merger, etc.) tag one or more of the BWI guys -- Greg Pickel, Nate Bauer, or Ryan Snyder. (To do so, type @GregPickel, @NateBauer, @RyanSnyder)

Have fun over the next two weeks, and as best as possible, behave. Here's hoping that while I'm away, things will run smoothly on the board, and there will be lots of positive news for PSU athletics (as well as my favorite pro teams :ROFLMAO: )
Congratulations. I remember when you were a young kid with a new site. Do you feel your back yet?

So telling the wedding planner "Do you know who the $%*^ I am" didn't work?

Anyway congratulations and happy vacation to you from Gopher land.

Cheers!
Speaking of Gopher Land, I’ll be there Labor Day weekend for a wedding. Actually, a second wedding, which we agreed we would never attend but alas, I’ll be there. Apparently we’ll be hitting the MN state fair. Anything in particular to hit there? Or particular food to get?

I had a cousin get married on a Penn State FB Saturday. Then 2 yrs later got divorced.

Fast forward a year after the divorce and he gets married AGAIN on a Penn State FB weekend.

In the wedding card I wrote "I hope this one lasts because I don't plan on missing another football game for wedding #3.”

His wife somehow didn't see the humor.

Oh. And he's on wife #4 now.
#4?

He is making full use of the transfer portal....

Congrats @Tom McAndrew

My wife went to a psychic a few weeks ago. The oracle talked about me the whole time and how great I am and how attractive I am to women. Drove my wife nuts. lol

Anyway, the psychic preceded to tell my wife we will be grandparents soon. We haven't had a wedding yet. Hoping for our oldest currently in med school or D2 to make that happen soon. Enjoy!

Well it depends. It's vendor/ street food. Most things are on a stick (no I'm not kidding). If I were you, I'd walk around (not easy) for a while and see what appeals to you. If you decide to eat Sweet Martha's cookies (chocolate chip cookies) expect to wait a while. Machinery hill and the 4H building might be interesting if you like learning about agriculture.

With all of that said, It's been a while since I've really toured the fair. Last time I was there it was to try and find some information for some people into farming that lived in a different country. I didn't stay very long.

Check out the entertainment lineup. There might be someone of interest performing the day you plan on going. That might make it worth it. https://www.mnstatefair.org/grandstand/ - Note: Regarding food, it says to check back in August. Also check on the free entertainment. Sometimes it is better than the main stage. Couldn't believe Tony, Toni, Tone' was at one of the free stages.

Congratulations and good luck. In past years we have had several Phillies discussions.

I like Andrew Zimmern's shows on Food Network and he did not disappoint with his description of a "Meat Torpedo of Delight".

My arteries started shutting down as he uttered those words.
I’m sorry, but I’m positive that using the phrase “Meat Torpedo of Delight” violates a whole slew of McA Board rules and/or regulations. That would be the optimal situation.

I mean, it’s been a week since the portal opened and if I were a new poster here I’d be giving a whole lot of serious thought to the sociological implications of “Meat Torpedo of Delight.”

Streisand effect is a real thing. I’ll shut up.

OMG after I read the reactions to my post I will put myself on double secret probation.

The expression that I posted was word-for-word from Andrew Zimmern's statement and my 76 year young mind did not comprehend any thought of what you and several other posters have interpreted.

I will now let myself out and you won't hear from me for a unspecified period of time while I find an appropriate gutter.

Dude, I’d feel horrible if my post chased you away.
