Hey I will be the first to admit Grayson wasnt the same Grayson his last 2 years. I checked some stats his last game against Kansas and he was like a woeful 3-13. So its not like he didnt have his chances. I just think after sophomore campaign he was thinking he would be The Man. Hence when he was expected to be a more supportive player, he felt more pressure on his shots. I know we've debated it to death, but I thought bullcity gamer brought up some good points.

Btw, just looking back at the stats of that Jayhawk game (and it does represent an obviously putrid size sample of one game), Bagley played 44 of a possible 45 minutes. I thought it was a fairly physical game.I dont see how you have that kind of PT WITHOUT COMMITTING A SINGLE FOUL. Bagley did however which may be an indictment on his defensive efforts. Just a mention on that note, since his D has been judged in other threads. OFC

Bagley also had 10 of our 24 total rebounds that game. By my math, without those 10 rebounds, we would have gotten destroyed.
I could call out Wendell Carter for having 2 total rebounds that game as a center but I love Wendell and appreciate everything he gave Duke.

True I noticed Bag's 10 boards and it denotes hustle!!! Point taken. Carter also AS YOU NOTED only gathered 2 boards. I still would argue Wendell was more involved DEFENSIVELY OVERALL. You have to remember Wendell sacrificed his body for a perfect charge near end of OT which Roger Ayers GROSSLY interpreted as a block, sending Wendell out of game w/5 fouls. Thus he went out trying to take one for the team. Don't want to get too far off topic, but also think Wendell blocked more shots by average per game......OFC

Grayson going 3-13 was really bad, and Carter wasn’t good either. Our most talented offensive guy, Bagley, only having 9 shots. Our pathetic defense. I seem to remember the announcers even mentioning how unorganized we looked. Grayson running like a madman from one side to the other to defend their shooters.
Bagley not picking up a single foul, playing all but 1 minute in a game that went to overtime.

It shows how talented we were. Any other team has those stats gets beat by double digits.
