So saw it...badass. probably would do you well to have a masters in norse history it's so detailed.
But it's basically the legendary story that Shakespeare got Hamlet from.
Passive aggressive? You didn't find it really violent? You don't think that people who have problems with overly masculine and overly violent scenes would have a problem with several chunks of this movie? I'm thinking of a sex scene especially that would send the "male feminist' types into a an absolute shiver."its definitely not gonna be liked if you are a super wimpy beta type."
So silly to even think to add that passive aggressive line to a review.
Anyway, saw it last week and loved it, which I knew I would because I'm a mark for Eggers. The Witch is brilliant, The Lighthouse is very good, and Viking history has always interested me. I feel like anything Eggers does will always be considered box office poison but I'm at a point where I'd rather give films like this more of a chance than some massive studio film that's predetermined to be a huge money maker.
The witch was great. This is what he could do with a large budget but yeah, it probably won't recoup the budget."its definitely not gonna be liked if you are a super wimpy beta type."

The Witch made bank, but only because it was a very low budget."its definitely not gonna be liked if you are a super wimpy beta type."
