So has a date been set for this? I would like to go, I heard it would be on a Thursday but have not seen an official date yet.

Any idea if they’ll be serving alcohol or we gonna have to do extra drinking in the parking lots?

I can assure you that with bad weather I won’t be in attendance. I’m quite sure we’ll see good stories about this scrimmage and maybe some film clips. For sure statistics. I’d love to be there but I won’t tempt illness because of bad weather.

I still say this is not a good move to not have an official spring game. If I were UofL I would want the traditonal Spring Game in hopes that it helps generate some new or renewed interest in season ticket sales. Not to mention the lost opportunity of having recruits and their familes come into town for a weekend event. A lot of former players are not likely to attend either. Oh well, what do I know!?!

I think Coach Satterfield’s top priority was to conduct spring practice as early as possible in order to get as complete an assessment of where the roster’s strengths and weaknesses are. That will help him make the tough decisions this spring as to whose scholarships will be renewed for the 2019-20 school year and whose will not. It will also give him an idea about which positions could stand to be improved immediately with grad transfers and also which high school juniors to make a top priority in the 2020 recruiting class.

When it comes right down to it, getting quickly back to winning is going to attract the fans much more so than the 2019 spring football game.

I don't think a Spring Game brings out new fans. The vast percentage of those coming out are 10-15K die hards wanting a look at the new roster, and most are already season ticket holders. It is going to take being competitive again to rebuild the in game fan base.

Excellent post. Spot on IMO too. In the grand scheme of things...not having 1 spring game is not that important.

Coach getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of his team is much more important for the future success of this program. I like the way he is going about his business.:D Bodes well for the future.!!!

Plus I really like the reports of the moving of players from their original positions to new positions. This is called coaching to get the best and quickest players into positions to help us. Additionally, I would think the kids really understand and respect these moves.
