I guess but it's sour grapes for us old timers......like you and me. Hey, CT, we probably are going to have settle for the way it is now. Time isn't on our side based on how long it will be before OU could actually leave the conference without paying a big price. TV rights and the such.
"The way it is now" at OU is the way it may always be.
I do not want 2000 to be the last championship I celebrate, but if that's what is "in the cards", there's nothing I can do about it and there's no sense in letting it cast a dark cloud over a good life. Aging has taught me not to sweat the small stuff (like what happens in sports)....but first, one has to recognize the small stuff....and that very important skill has eluded me most of my soon-to-be 68 years.
So what I have said about OU's football fortunes is not about being negative or "whiny". It's only my view of what is happening....and right now, it's what I regard as limited success.
