We need a new thread for the finals.

So how's it going to go down? I'll say Golden State in six.

I say Cleveland. Regular season be damned, Cleveland has looked better than anyone in the playoffs. And obviously they won the series, but I felt OKC outplayed Golden State for most of that series. But GSW stepped up when it matters most which is what you have to do.

But I still feel Cleveland has the players and talent to beat GSW. Once again can talent play together, because that's what doomed OKC. Golden State's team play ultimately decided it all.

Cleveland in 7.

Please let Cleveland win. I know you guys can't stomach Harrison Barnes and golden state winning it all

I think this should be an excellent series, hopefully one where no one gets hurt. I got the Warriors in 7, but will be pulling for Kyrie and the Cavs.

Let's make this more interesting (not that the hedging of your picks isn't great). If someone told you that the series ended in 4 games, who would you think won? Would your decision change if it was 5 games?
Thats just impossible for me to answer. I think it goes at least 6 games but can't pick a winner.

Cleveland in 5. This is Lebron's last peak year. His team is going to out-muscle and out-hustle the splash bros.

Edit - so far, the opposite of what is happening.

Gotta pull for the Cleveland Dukies. Like Curry but barnes and mcadoo flushes the whole team down the toilet. OFC

I sure hope you're right. Rooting hard for Cleveland due to Kyrie.

If Cleveland does win, I would think they need to get it done in six. You think they can go to GS and win a game 7?

They desperately need Love to guard well enough to stay on the floor. A big deal is made of last year's finals being without Love and Kyrie (as it should be), but the Frye acquisition has been huge for Cleveland this postseason. He has given them another dimension off the bench, particularly of Love has trouble defensively.

I don't know what the over/under was, but just one comically ridiculous Green flop that quarter has to be below expectation.

Cleveland can't get desperate and try to play GSW's pace. They are a slow pace team that works best with good ball movement and drives from KI and LeBron. They are trying to play Golden State's pace right and they'll get swept if they do that.

Golden State. Cleveland is going to have to wear down the Warriors. They'll need 6 or 7 to do that.

Cleveland just seems so out of their game tonight. harrison barnes is hitting everything. It's about as sickening as watching him at unccheat*. Kyrie get it going bud. OFC

Kyrie heating up a little. Driving to the basket should help get James and Love going. Cavs need to take advantage of Curry and Thompson having off nights. OFC

Slaughter, Cleveland going to need to make a boatload of adjustments because you know curry and klay will not have another game like this. Unless that's what they're going for in saying the Warriors bench won't have another game like this.

I think Cleveland needs LeBron to mimic his Finals last year and Love and KI play supplemental behind him. As much as I like Kyrie, this is LeBron's team and they are who they are because of him. He needs to take over.

They will never beat the Warriors shooting below 40% and making four threes.

If last night was any indication, I'm going to be way off on my prediction of GS in six. Heck, it might get called before game four at this pace. GS was in absolute control all evening. Except when the Cavs grabbed that brief lead in the third it seemed pretty one-sided.

Yeah. They didn't stand a chance playing like that. If they don't steal one next game, they can't win this series.

Offensively , Cleveland looked like the worst of the Blatt era. Limited ball movement, limited player movement. They hadn't looked that way really all of the postseason.

GSW looked awesome man. To get bugging from Klay and Steph and get beat down like that? Sheesh. OKC was just really good and pushed a legendary team to their limit. Gave GSW a wake up call. Their defense was niceeeee. Cleveland ain't done though.

Just seeing this thread ... I had GSW in 6 at the start. But, I think it could be 5. The next game is huge for Cleveland (obviously) - not just to win, but to play really well.

As much as I have tried to root for Kyrie as a former Duke player - and don't dislike him personally, I just don't like him as a "player" for a championship team. He's never learned to be a PG who can pass the ball. He can only score, and that not super efficiently. He also needs the ball in his hands. He's like Westbrook (though not as physical) but doesn't pass like Westbrook does. Until Kyrie learns to become an effective passer and play defense, he's not going to be a great player. His defense is mediocre to bad. He's super talented, but he's not a classic Coach K player.

Cleveland is a really dysfunctional set-up.

I also root for Livingston even though he didn't go to Duke - b/c he did pick Duke; I doubt a lot of Duke players would have gone to Duke had they been draft eligible out of HS - probably including Kyrie. Livingston has really made himself into a great player in spite of one of the worst injuries imaginable for any athlete, let alone an NBA player.

Did anyone just see Kyrie's lob to James for the slam dunk. It was AWESOME! OFC

That has to be the best play of the finals thus far, with the battle for the steal, followed by that incredible lob and finish.

They were terrific, and it was great to see Kyrie play well. They really have something to think about with Love's return. They were so much better defensively without him.

I'd like to see good games in a good series. 7 blowouts won't cut it. Is it too much to ask to move the start times to 7pm EDT and have each game go to triple OT??

I think they were better due to the fact that they played with much more effort and aggressiveness. I think they go with the line up from last night, but I would still give Love some major minutes. Shooting the ball better will always make your defense some what better. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game. I loved watching Kyrie dominate last night.
