So what happened there? Did the refs somehow give an indication that it was a two-shot foul when it wasn't? (At the time of the foul, the ref definitely indicated that the foul occurred on the floor.) Were the players (of both teams) just asleep at the wheel? Who was at fault? It really sucked that Northwestern was punished by Michigan's missed free throw.

Both teams seemed asleep. When the call was made it clearly was not in the act of shooting. When the FT was missed, the NU player (Sanjay?) sort of handed it to the ref, who shouldn't have touched the ball. Brain farts all around.

Refs clearly indicated non-shooting foul and one and one. Blew whistle on NU rebound as if they thought it was two shots. Mistake made. Alternate possession to Michigan. Bad moment..

The refs definitely called it on the floor but my guess is that the ref that handed the ball to the shooter indicated 2 shots to everyone, hence no one went after the rebound. If they did correctly indicate 1 and 1 when giving ball to shooter and everyone had a brain fart, it should have been our ball.

We won anyways!
