For every coach you want to list that turned it around after 2 years, there are dozens more who did not. Such as BCG for starters. This numbskull logic to result to red herrings to defend the lackluster results of Kentucky under Pope right now is absolutely ridiculous and you need to get real!!

recruiting is year to year. You're going to have 2, maybe 3 guys return Year over Year and you're buying the rest of the team on the open market.

regardless, there is no coddling the guys on this team. Pope needs to make a statement to them and the fans that he is the coach, and they will earn their place on the team. Worry about next year when it gets there.
I expect the person giving out the contract to know what they are doing. If you add a bunch of extra stipulations that no one else does, nobody is going to come here.

I don't think anyone Pope recruited considered Cal for a moment in making the decision on whether they wanted to come to Kentucky which is what you said.
