Anyone watching this show? The second episode aired yesterday during the game so I'm watching it tonight. The first episode was pretty decent. I was 2 when the events happened so I'm interested in seeing what the fuss was all about.

I loved it along time ago. It consumed TV then so I pretty much got it, no need to repeat it.

This is one event that just saturated media to the point that I don't want anything else to do with it. I've seen good reviews for the series but I want nothing to do with the subject.

Travolta steals the show imo. Also there's also some subtle jabs at the Kardashians....basically we wouldn't know who they were if it wasn't for this.

Watching the 2nd episode right now and remember exactly where I was and what was doing.

It's pretty good so far.

I'm glad the Kardashian girls are sprinkled into the show. They're the glue holding the show together. Also read a rumor that Khloe is OJ's daughter.

i honestly don't think theres been a news topic that has been covered in the media to such a degree for such a period of time as that investigation/trial. It was like September 11th except it lasted for months

I was 10 when the OJ trial started. My father was addicted to it. He would watch coverage from daylight to dark. The show so far has been pretty good.

Travolta has been the star of the show so far, but he's also the executive producer, so there you go.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has been the weak link of the main cast, IMO. For the most part, everyone looks and sounds like who they were cast as. Him as OJ, not so much. The high pitched whining he was doing in the back of the Bronco was just annoying to watch.

A bit too Hollywoodish for me after living through the original circus.

Every damn day before school, the Today Show covered the trial in the morning to the point that it was exhausting. It lasted forever.

Seriously, coverage of the trial started in Nov and lasted all the way to October. Then we got to hear about the verdict forever.

Like others have said, I saw way too much of that crap to show any interest in that case these days.

I guess I'll be one the few who find it interesting.

Because there was so much coverage back then, I tuned it out.

I would prefer to binge watch this on Netflix though.

Not interested. It was over-saturation the first time around. Complete circus. IMO, OJ got away with it because of his celebrity and the fact that the country was still upset over the Rodney King trial and acquittal of the white officers that mercilessly beat him. They should have been sent to prison.
Plus the idiocy of Mark Furman, which had nothing to do with what OJ did.

The cast intrigues me. IMO (with the glaring exception of one O.J. Simpson), the major players are *perfectly* cast.

It's fascinating watching Travolta play Shapiro; Paulson might as well BE Marcia Clark; Schwimmer as Kardashian; Vance as Cochran. Love Bruce Greenwood too. And then some cameos from Cheryl Ladd, Connie Britton, et al.

Even though (or maybe because) it was over-saturated, I tuned it out at times back then. I find it interesting to go back in time, remember where I was and what I was doing during that year, and how my impressions have changed with age and also with hindsight.

I realize that not all of it is factually airtight, but it's interesting how they portray Robert K as unassuming and mild-mannered; particularly knowing what we know now about how his kids became famous for being famous. But I guess someone married to Kris wouldn't be an alpha attention *****, because she is.

To some extent, the O.J. trial launched reality TV. I always thought at the time that Ito made a terrible decision to allow the whole thing to be publicized. He completely lost control of it. Looking forward to seeing how they present that aspect of it.

I'll be interested in any theories as to who might have committed the murders. So random IMHO.

If OJ were white the national attention span on the whole tawdry affair would have been about 30 seconds. It turned into a national goat rodeo.

It definately created a racial divide and Cochran fanned the flames. LA cops were indeeed knuckleheads and the prosecution was inept. I'm not sure who was likable in the whole situation. Ito was star struck as well.

really? did you just use the limp dicked term 'knuckleheads' to describe the LAPD during that time period? Like just some guys doing stupid pranks on people? But Johnnie Cochran is the bad guy here. The LAPD during that time were thugs, drug dealers and killers.

LA would have burned if OJ was convicted. The black crowds cheered as the verdict was announced.
It was payback for all the lynchings and police brutality. The jury and OJ celebrated at his estate and were laughing it up as the double murderer was set free.
OJ in Nevada State Penitentiary most likely due to head trauma he suffered in the NFL

I have watched the first 2 episodes and I think its been really well done so far - it humanizes the police. I was in my early 20's when this happened. It seemed like the whole thing was a circus. Forensics should have shown without a doubt that OJ did it - its just testimony to his legal team they could turn the entire thing upside down using race and celebrity to persuade a jury.

Watched the first episode, good show, especially Travolta, but Cuba Gooding was just so unbelievable as OJ, I don't know if I'll watch the second or not, may give it one more shot. Surely there was a brother that looked more OJ than Cuba does.

I'm OK with Gooding - for me its just that OJ is so incredibly dislike able as a person that some of that animosity rubs off on Gooding

The real thing is still too fresh in my mind. We didn't have as many options then so we had to endure it for months.

Some of these performances (Vance, Travolta, Paulson) are just riveting.

Also interesting seeing Schwimmer playing Robert K, Nathan Lane as Bailey, and the guys playing Scheck and Dershowitz.

They nailed the cast from top to bottom (with the glaring exception of the title character).

It's also fascinating watching all of the egos at play among the lawyers. They certainly aren't going to let the magnitude of the case, and the lives that hang in the balance, get in the way of their petty concerns over the pecking order. [laughing]
