Last year on another thread we were talking about Thanksgiving. The wife of a cousin asked the family not to serve wine at Thanksgiving because her husband was having trouble with alcohol and she didn't want him to fall off the wagon. I didn't ***** about it to my family nor her and respected the request, but I knew it was going to be pointless. I got a lot of grief for it on here, including from Mr. Camacho.
I think you misremember my sentiments, which were, iirc --> if that was a one time request for someone who is actively starting sobriety, then it would be reasonable to consider but otherwise tell his wife to pound sand. Believe I made it clear that it sucked and was unfair for you to even be put in that situation.

But by all means, please keep being a killjoy on here.

I like to get a pile of special k from the family veterinarian. Then I bury my nose in it, and go to the moon.

Absolutely. Evan is the default go to anymore, particularly the white label bonded. It’s creeped up to 27/28 bucks a handle, but still an incredible value, and very good. And the black label 80 is perfectly good - can’t beat it.

I will withhold statements re. the quantities I drink, lest @lifeinsuranceunderwriter might be lurking in here. I have a family, you know?

Cant believe so many smoke on here , dont really care , just surprised .. maybe I shouldnt be , been to 2 parties lately where several dudes in their 50s and 60s were partaking .

I was surprised too.

I’m guessing it’s because cannabis has been legal in many parts of the country for almost 10 years and the social stigma of marijuana based on bad propaganda from the 1920s and 30s has largely faded away.

I once wrote a paper in college over 20 years ago about legalizing marijuana. My professor wrote NEVER HAPPENING on the top of my paper. Looks like he was wrong.

59 here.

I had total knee replacement done 3 days ago, so for the next month or so it's going to be strong pain medicine prescribed by my surgeon, helped along with some cartridges. ( Damn those things are handy, but they're not all created equal and I only have one source as it is. Gold Coast brand is the best he's ever gotten me.)

When I'm not having major surgery that requires percs to push through physical therapy, I just hit a cart a few times; depending upon the strength, maybe a few more, and I'm good. Put me on the water fishing for bass and I'm in heaven.
I've had some carts before. The first few I had a few years ago were REALLY good. 24 Karat brand. There are too many out there now that give me pause. I took one on vacation back in May and didn't like the way it made me feel. It gave me a bit of the shakes and burned my throat like no other so I'm done with them.

Well, there is always the senior leagues where I could play any position but, they only have them in OKC about an hour's drive from me. Thinking about it for next year since I am now retired. I can go, get back late and tell my wife that I won't get up with her to see her off in the morning.
Try Coed, real coed (50/50), not that 70/30 or 80/20 crap. I actually have always preferred it to Men’s. I’ve also played fast pitch and unlimited arc. I was a solid player when younger. Not a HR hitter, only one I ever hit over the fence was an automatic out because we already met our limit. But had warning track power and could place it. But you could put me at 3B and I’d throw out anyone! Am 55 now, I think I’d still be adequate at 3B. But I learned how to pitch years ago and did that quite a bit from 35-45 and 53-54. Backspin high deep pitches, knuckleballs, and averaged less than 1 walk per game (went 1 season with only 1 walk). Last year our Coed team was pretty good (b2b champs) with 1/3 of us 50+ and 1/3 under 25.

I'm getting to the age were I'm killing myself alot slower then I used to. No beer because this is ky and I'm a bourbon guy. My weed lays around forever b4 I finally smoke it. My oils i go get from dispensary so I have my flavors that I like. My favorite drug is sunshine and sunsets with just alittle weed. I'm only 42 but couldn't tell you the last time I was shitfaced drunk. Probably 10 years

Yeah, we have the 70-30 league in Lawton OK and it sucks. Problem is though; we have a hard enough time to get enough women to play with the current numbers.

Our men's league only had 6 teams in it this year with the possibility of no league next year so, the old man leagues in OKC look good to me right now. At 67 years old, I have been blessed with good health and physical ability to continue to play in the younger leagues as the guys keep asking me to play. I am curious however to how good the teams/players are in the older leagues as some people have told me these guys still play at a pretty good level of physicality and talent (years of experience I guess).

I say this as someone who is a friend of the Big Blue Nation and wants all of you to live your best life: Some of you need to cut back off the booze a little. Others a lot.
No doubt.

I'm reading this and thinking "wow!" because all I need is 1 healthy shot of any of my favorites (Bombay Sapphire, Glenlivit 18, Angels Envy) and I sleep like a baby. I'm 61 fwiw...

65 years old.

Thursday nights, after 2 hours of indoor volleyball and a hot shower, a 10mg indica/sativa hybrid gummy. Nice relaxing buzz followed by a great night’s sleep.

Friday and Saturday night a bottle of red blend wine.

I'm 62.

I rarely drink anymore ; I've had a couple of bottles of bourbon now for over two years and they're both almost full.

Now, I use Delta 8 in the cartridges and really like it. I smoked weed for many years, but now it makes me cough more often than not, so the Delta 8 is a great option for me. About 4-5 good hits and I am feelin' finer than frog hair split three ways. Helps with pain, and helps with sleep as well.

Are they still legal here? Any recommendation around Lexington?
There are plenty of shops around town, just google CBD shops in Lexington, but I think American Shaman in Fayette Mall has D8 and D9 … not sure, but maybe even D10. At a recent store visit, while chatting with the Manager, I was told that all product for their stores east of the Mississippi was grown in Nelson County, Kentucky. I have no idea if that is true … fwiw.
