The potential problem for Brohm if he stays at Purdue

if he fails at Purdue, he no longer can expect any sympathy from his alma mater.

Now, he can win at Purdue and get a second chance, say, if the next Louisville coach fails.

My advice to him would be to talk to a non-football coach specifically about being wooed by his alma mater: Roy Williams.

Roy probably would have won a National Championship or 2 at KU. But there is no way they could have meant what his titles at UNC mean.

Yeah I doubt the U of L sympathy would last more than 3-4 years to turn their ship around anyways. He's a football coach. He either produces or he doesn't.

At least with Purdue he has already turned around the ship and he has earned a lot of goodwill with the PU fanbase who probably has more "managed expectations" and will be quick to remember what it was like pre-Brohm.

I'd argue the leash would be just as long if not longer at Purdue than U of L.

I guess I don't really understand the logic behind this thread. If Brohm stays at Purdue and is successful, he might have an opportunity at the Louisville job again in the future? If he stays at Purdue and fails, he's not going anywhere but down - out of P5.

FWIW, I don't think he'd fail at Purdue, as long as success is defined as making a Bowl.
