Somehow, I managed to stumble across this band and, surprisingly, I really like the handful of songs I've heard. Think they put out their 4th album earlier this year. Normally, I'm more of a blues/soul/classic rock guy but they've got something that just caught my ear.

Anyone else like them? Any other similar bands I should check out?

Dont love it. Dont hate it. At least its rock. Something about it just seems kind of sterile and generic. I like the intro guitar lick...needs some filthy slide lol. Not bad, just doesnt grab me.

Yeah, they’re decent, but this is Rock from a New York band competently using the mechanics of the genre, but missing the southern/blues/soul influence. Their hit “Take Me Down” is a perfect example . . . very obvious homage being paid to Robert Johnson and his fateful meeting at the cross roads in Mississippi, but . . . just . . . no . . . soul . . . in telling the story.

They would be well served moving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama for a year or two, and drinking moonshine, listening to some early Stones stuff, and reconsidering their music.

And they might visit a Mississippi cross roads at midnight . . . .

I agree they're not creating anything truly new or different necessarily but at least we have real guitars, real drums, a soulful voice and a decent bluesy guitar break. Better than most of the new stuff I've heard lately.

Yeah, definitely agreed. I think that's why it comes across as sterile. Just not any actual soul or Southern stank to it. That intro guitar lick had me pretty excited on the video and then she started singing....and then I just felt kinda meh.

-there is rarely anything"new", if ever. Just reinterpretation of stuff. The pretty reckless stuff is blues rock(been around since the 60's)...reminds me of 90's "alternative radio" stuff, not that it's a bad thing.

-my main point was to show additional attractive "frontwomen".

Ah, didn't catch that. You've got a good eye for front women. I thought, 'Not in love with the music but she shore is purty'.
