That really took the wind out of our sails. I think the game would have been much closer without that special teams screw up.
Agree. Punter out kicked coverage. Cover guys didn't adjust. It was a killer. Team played well. But too many mistakes. But nothing like last year. I'm optimistic.

It is truly a game of inches. Washington pinning us to the 1 yard line a coupe of times was like a turnover. We left a field goal on the table after moving the ball well. There was a badly blown play that allowed Washington to get a TD. Our second TD may have been called down on the 1 yard line but we would have punched it in if it had been reversed.

Also their punt coverage. How many times did they down the ball on the one? Really took us out of our offense.

Ash said on the post Game presser that Anderson made 2 errors. Outpunted the Coverage and was supposed to kick it outbounds.

Also, what the heck with Kick off receiving team. Finally after the 3rd Fair Catch Special Teams Coach Oruich makes the adjustment and moves Hicks up .

Wrong.
This Guy has shown he is not a BIG coach.
Check the film last year when we continued to kickoff to John Ross.
I was at the game in Seattle and couldn't believe it.

Do you really think he told him to punt to Ross? Just like he told him to Anderson to punt in the middle of the field when we are pinned on our goal line, right?

It happened several times in the Washington game ..... either he didn't tell him NOT to kick it to him or he wasn't getting the message through.
BTW were you watching the Special Teams they rest of us were watching last year ?

Last year is over. Stop the crap. And whiners and complainers......was there anything good you saw? Thought Edwards ran well as did Martin. Oh let's also see...the players didn't quit and Washington didn't really run too well against us. Pleased with the work of some of the younger players. No problem with the long snaps. Liked that we ran several plays from under center. Might have liked to see Bolin keep bal occassionaly and that is what Gio gives us and so does Lewis.

To add insult to injury, the returner fumbled the punt.
How many times have you seen a punt returner bobble a punt only to take it to the house? The bobbled punt can cause the punt coverage team to leave their lanes and start to go for the ball, and that is a recipe for disaster.

I have watched the game for quite awhile and I am not sure I have heard a coach blame the punter for out kicking his coverage. I get the kick out of bounds and away from the dangerous return guy but get down and cover it. Was it a line drive punt? Pettit seemed to be drifting back like a center fielder for about 15 yards.

Our special teams were not good. Twice a punt was downed at the one. The 59 yard punt for a TD was awful. We also received at least 2 kickoffs that were very short and the receiver each time took a knee when they could have gained about 7 or 8 more yards.
