I figured Dauber might be back in it. Remarkably, the old cast is alive and kicking, with some in their 80's.

NBC's revival of the original series will be set in present day with Hayden Fox retired from coaching. He is called back home to become assistant coach to his grown son who is the new head coach at an Ivy League school in Pennsylvania that is just starting up a new team.

[/B]Nice job making the setting relevant and to draw the max interest, NBC! Nothing draws more ratings in the college football universe than Ivy league teams!!

Set your job in a fictional Southern big state school, SEC or Texas level program, Hollywood idiots. Plus with a warm-weather setting, you have an excuse to have lightly clothed co-eds on every episode.

I remember watching this show growing up and liking it, although I don't remember a whole lot of the details. This seems so random. I can't imagine even a big fan of the show has been thinking "man, it would be great if they brought it back".

If it's based on present day, wouldn't Timothy Fox only be 18 year old? That would be awful young to be a college head coach, wouldn't it? Obviously, they can finagle their way around that but I would change some things. I would make Hayden and Christine's son a star recruit instead of a coach. To me, Fox should be hired to upstart a new football program and have his son follow him to the school. Either way, I am more than excited as Coach is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I too would make it a school down south though as stated above. That just seems to have more appeal than an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania.

Awesome. Used to really like that show before he took the Orlando Breakers job.

Also, when I stayed home from school, I used to watch Coach and Wings re-runs in the AM on USA.

Meh on coach, but if they ever remake "The White Shadow", I may lose my damn mind. Great basketball show.

"Wings", now there's a show I haven't thought about in years. Used to like it, but mainly for the cute little blonde.

It could be funny if the Ivy League players are nerds who can't win a game.....
