Boy, I hope Sellers doesn't have a sophomore slump.
He needs to up his passing game. Held the ball too many times - looked like Rattler back there a bunch - but is an athletic freak and got away a lot. Rattler took sacks. He's the only reason we beat Clemson, and in my opinion our lack of offensive identity in that game made it much easier for the talking heads to relegate us to 14th. Hopefully Shula is the answer.

I have said several times that the measurement for the Beamer regime will be how well they develop Sellers (and those around him). So far, Sellers has been Superman, Johnny Football and only a pinch of Lamar Jackson. He needs more Lamar.

Yes, as phenomenal as he was in the Clemson game and Mizzou games...and he was absolutely otherworldly, he does need to work on the passing game.

As great as he was down the stretch this season, there's lots of very smart football coaches who now have a lot of tape on him.

He threw for 5 TDs against Mizz. He definitely need to be better in all aspects of the game but I don’t believe he’s going to regress after another offseason.

A good share of the passing game issues could be put on the receivers. They just weren't great this year.

Sellers' completion % was right at 65, which was 35th in the nation. He improved by leaps and bounds as the season went along.

Without an elite receiver he outplayed every QB he faced but Dart

A qb doesn’t work on the passing game, he works IN the passing game. It’s refreshing to see right after two posts rattling sabres at Spencer Rattler (seriously? lol) and LaNorris Sellers someone who’s apparently actually been in an offense points out the receivers piece, which is by far the most critical piece. It’s how some qbs look like trash at one school and first rounders when they transfer, and some can’t do squat when they lose receivers. Receivers that attack a defense make a qb look good (see Connor Shaw and Jake Bentley at times) and not so good when they’re timid and dropsy (see Bentley in the game against i think A&M where espn did an entire segment of our dropped passes costing four touchdowns).

We need stud receivers, period. Sellers will be fine.

‘Tape’? Taping fast twitch, speed, and hips won’t do a lot of good.

We haven't had a QB considered to be Heisman caliber in......ever? Just feels too good to be true.
The last time I remember our QB and Heisman Candidate being mentioned in the same sentence was halfway thru that 1995 season when Taneyhill had that 3 or 4 game stretch where he was really on a tear. Then again that was the easiest part of that schedule.

Taneyhill's stats in that road game at Mississippi State looked like something from Tecmo Super Bowl:
