Honestly, there is no telling where we will be in 15 years. Robots/computers will probably be doing a lot of the human work but I think there will always be the need for the human element.

My thought is that if the steps were to go from the desk, to the lap, to the palm then the obvious next step would be to become one with the computer. Nanotechnology will probably make this possible. Search engines become wired into humans. I know that sounds like some serious Phillip K Dick type stuff, but it just seems inevitable. I believe that at some point man and machine will become one in some form.

DaBoss, what are your views on religion? TIA.
It's a double edged sword. It can be very beneficial for people. Especially those who need that hope and security. Even if it may be false. Life is hard. I personally feel that a creator of some sort is as possible as any other explanation. But I don't think man has ever communicated or ever will communicate with it in this reality.

He has never responded to me.

Edit: I thought "the singularity" was the gravitational one before the big bang.

Singularity being talked about here. Mergence of your consciousness into machine. Ray Kurzweil (sp?) says that he thinks it will be done by 2045 or something. If I am correct the reason why he thinks is will be done so soon is based on the exponential speed at which technology is being created.
