the Durham school district already has a no-fail/no holdbacks policy in place. if they cannot graduate before they turn 20, then they are finished with school. no diploma, just no more school.

tried to have our son held back in elementary school; he was an early enrollee, only to be informed of the said policy. so sad...

It's not a grading scale for students but for the schools themselves.

Let's see...we have a problem with underperforming schools not meeting their requirements. Should we shut them down like we said we would? Should we keep them open but penalize them in another way? Should we send Mr. Clark in to help turn it around? Should we give them more incentives?

Nah. Let's just lower the bar. We will lower the standards so everyone can get their trophy!!!

I say go full retard and lower the standard for schools to 9. That way you could save a lot of money by hiring crack heads as teachers AND keep all underperforming schools open. Win/Win.
