CNN 3 hrs ago:
Early on in Tuesday's confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill, Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett used a term that alarmed many LGBTQ+ people and advocates:
Sexual preference.
Barrett referenced the term when asked about the Supreme Court's 2015 decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which granted the right to same-sex marriage -- a choice of words that Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono condemned in a lengthy statement.

"Even though you didn't give a direct answer I think your response did speak volumes," Hirono said. "Not once, but twice, you used the term sexual preference to describe those in the LGBTQ community. And let me make clear, sexual preference is an offensive and outdated term."

Hirono continued, "It is used by anti-LGBTQ activists to suggest that sexual orientation is a choice. It is not."

She added that if Barrett believed "that sexual orientation is merely a preference," then the LGBTQ community should be "rightly concerned" whether the judge would uphold their constitutional right to marry.

Just watched five clips of JOE BIDEN recently using the term "sexual preference" when referring to LGBTQ people. AND ......just saw one from our favorite former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg using the same term in the same context.

Leave it to the perverted LGBTQ community to pervert our language as well. Sickos. These people should not be given the time of day.

Having 3-4 gay family members, I can't keep up with how to address them. My kids can't keep up either. It's like a new language with different rules.

I just use their names and don’t really address our sexual differences or call attention to the reality of them having different desires than my own.

All irrelevant of course to that fvcking loon Hirono.

It's just political theatre.

They're hoping she says something totally off the wall that eliminates herself from consideration.

She's smarter than that. She's smarter than them.

She's a shoo-in if the vote is on the merits of the candidate. We'll see where the vote falls and who votes totally along party lines.

Voting party lines against an extremely well qualified female candidate isn’t good for the Dems. I’m surprised by the amount of suburban women following this confirmation and the support she is receiving from them. If they were smart, and show they want to lead the country and bridge the gaps, they’d confirm her with overwhelming support. Failing to do so eliminates the argument of them trying to be real leaders. There is zero reason why this woman shouldn’t be confirmed.

Agreed. Overwhelmingly so.

But I don't think she will be. Confirmed yes. Overwhelmingly so, ala 97-3ish, no way.

She is widely considered to be the lowest IQ standing Senator.

Manchin and Kaine both voted for her on the Circuit Court confirmation. I would imagine they both will again.

Donnelly (D) did as well, but he was replaced by Braun in 19. Be interesting if the D Senator from Indiana votes no.

The Dem strategy, whatever it was, failed miserably in those confirmations. She’s come across as a very intelligent and extremely well qualified jurist capable of replacing RBG.

it’s not going to be genotypic but rather phenotypic. It’s why one identical twin can be straight and the other gay.

For me on the issue of gays ..my belief in the bible tells me its wrong
The same constitution that gives me the right to worship as I see fit gives gays the right to be gay...
I dont understand all of it so I won't judge what I don't understand......I have several gay friends & enjoy their company & most open gay guys are not pedophiles....

It's not going to be in the DNA, but rather how the DNA is expressed leading to biological factors that make people gay or straight.

you do realize that what you are saying is considered offensive to the gay community?

It's ok, They don't know what he/she/it is saying either...... Evidently it isnt in the genes or jeans ....

Being gay is becoming less and less a political issue...and it should be...people don't want to be defined by what sex acts they do...but by who they are. They also realize that making money is way more important than pissing off a potential client or customer.
