My girlfriends kids go to that school, it's sad to listen to them talk about it , they knew the shooter & watched kids get shot...the main reaction I'm getting from them is pissed ...& the only question they have is ,why?

Wow, I’m very sorry for you, your girlfriend, and esp her kids to have to experience a tragedy like that. I wish all a fast and healthy recovery. My girlfriends kids go to that school, it's sad to listen to them talk about it , they knew the shooter & watched kids get shot...the main reaction I'm getting from them is pissed ...& the only question they have is ,why?
Texas Lt. Governor said it happened because of abortions and video games.

I'm tired of hearing how we do things at airports. There are rarely more than one airport at any city and large cities have two. How many high schools are there in even a city of 200,000? Hardening of the schools will be a cost that may be unobtainable for a lot of school districts. There is only one alternative that is cost effective and that is arming the teachers, period. The sad thing is there was a former Marine who was next door to the shooting, unarmed of course.Because we don't guard schools the way we guard everything else.

Have you forgotten how uninvolved parents can be? It’s likely not the kids who have the helicopter parents doing this. I’m guessing it’s the kids who are needing to feel “something”. Fvcking emo *****.The answer isn’t as clear as anyone — including me — thinks it is for sure. I think the focus should be on a network of identification and support throughout our school systems with teachers, administrators, and counselors. A proactive and somewhat aggressive analysis and interaction with parents by qualified members of our school systems. And a truthful and thorough evaluation and discussion of social media, psychology, sociology, and bullying within our classrooms.
I doubt it ever truly prevents these horrors, but it would help.
Good points as usual......I would rather see more of an approach to the issues you mentioned instead of the constant drumbeat of the NRA and guns. I have yet to see in the rants of the likes of David Hogg and some politicians a word about the evilness and mental conditions of the shooters. Have you ever heard Hogg condemn the Parkland shooter? His appearances are more like rallies against the NRA and politicians instead of the nuts that do the shootings. If we could take away ALL guns in our society......I would support that approach......but we both know that will NEVER happen.......So maybe it's time to try something different. The answer isn’t as clear as anyone — including me — thinks it is for sure. I would never propose that teachers replace parents, but there needs to be a bigger focus on activities and sport. Art - music - a fvcking comic book team - SOMETHING for everyone that allows outsiders to feel a sense of “team” and family.....a real connection with coaches/ organization leaders (that are qualified school personnel). Say what you want about football, but most coaches and players form a bond that allows students to at the very least feel a connection to something higher than themselves.Have you forgotten how uninvolved parents can be? Understood, but violent video games have been around 20 years. This uptick in school shootings is very recent. There is zero doubt that media, especially violent video games, have an impact on the developing mind, and it should be examined.
What the Lt. Gov fails to realize is that there is a real possibility that Roe v. Wade led to a reduction in crime, not an increase.
I’m partial to allowing gun control, because I personally don’t care......but that’s not America. Others do care, and it’s their country, Constitution, and rights too. I think you make a very solid point....unless we can get all the guns.....it won’t fix the problem. Funny we don't hear much about the exact type of weapons used...must not fit the narrative
and abortion. No, instead we are hearing ridiculous statements blaming Ritalin and video games.........
Many liberals don't care about free speech exp it they don't agree with it.I’m partial to allowing gun control, because I personally don’t care......but that’s not America. In as far as gun control, I would just want a serious focus on manufacturing in this country. There seem to be wayyyy more guns than are legally purchased in this nation. Are manufacturers hemorrhaging weapons? Are there THAT many gun thefts?
As long as there are children, there will be some sort of hazing, picking on, not including, things that go on no matter how liberals feel. It's part of growing up.I would never propose that teachers replace parents, but there needs to be a bigger focus on activities and sport. And when kids come into school armed, they are then locked into a closed classroom. One entrance for a school of 1800 isn't reasonable. There are inexpensive ways to harden schools. One of which is access control with mag locks on all classroom doors. Harden the classroom doors, as most classrooms are built out of block wall, and automatically secure them upon an event.

I think you missed my point. The support being keyAs long as there are children, there will be some sort of hazing, picking on, not including, things that go on no matter how liberals feel. It's part of growing up.
Violent video games and killing pigs isn't a great way to raise children. Too bad they weren't shooting MS 13 in the video games and singing about killing street ho's.Says the man from the political party that has always blamed violent video games and music for outcomes........
F88king comic book club. There will be kids left out of that because of acne scars.I think you missed my point. The support being key
I think crazy is a very subjective term....I seek not to “end craziness”, but to increase support, self confidence, hope for the future, the ability to accept, the ability to forgive, the feeling of belonging/ connection, the passion of enjoying talent and experiences of life, and a lower importance on status - comparison of life accomplishment - and digital, shallow relationshipsIf you seek to end craziness, there's only one simple solution.........end mankind.........

So you STFU about the 2nd admendment! To use your side's own comments when gun control gets brought up:
"Video games didn't kill anyone, the shooter did"........
So, STFU about violent games and music that you do not agree with.......opcorn:
I don’t agree at all.And that is like using an umbrella as a shield to stop a bullet.........
YOu sound like a f88king Eliz warren clone.I think crazy is a very subjective term....I seek not to “end craziness”, but to increase support, self confidence, hope for the future, the ability to accept, the ability to forgive, the feeling of belonging/ connection, the passion of enjoying talent and experiences of life, and a lower importance on status - comparison of life accomplishment - and digital, shallow relationships
You sound like every 80 year old know it all crank I’ve ever been forced to listen to rail about how they know how to fix everything by not fixing anything.YOu sound like a f88king Eliz warren clone.
Reported use of .38 revolver and shotgun. How in hell is a shotgun taken into a school. No one saw or no one squealed? Both responses are stupid. The kids realize the atmosphere they exist in, and still turn their heads on someone with a shotgun? In most of Texas kids are gun savvy. Did enough time not elapse to report the weapon? I never ratted on a fellow student nor teacher, but no students were shot during school time in the era.Funny we don't hear much about the exact type of weapons used...must not fit the narrative
I'm just pointing out human nature. Kids aren't liked by other kids, oh the humanity. No f**king comic book club is going to stop that. No amount of "feel" good stuff is going to stop one set of kids being mean to another kid. It's going to happen. I'm not 80 years old. I've seen this shooting going on for too long too. I've seen an uptick in police assassinations since obama took office. Funny, nobody seems the least bit bothered on the left about that. You sound like every 80 year old know it all crank I’ve ever been forced to listen to rail about how they know how to fix everything by not fixing anything.
Wonder which one of us hits closer to the mark?
Was it sawed off? Kid had a long coat on. Hell, in the 60's we had a kid bring a home made 22 onto a bus and shoot himself in the arm.Reported use of .38 revolver and shotgun. Obama’s got everyone hating the police?I'm just pointing out human nature. Kids aren't liked by other kids, oh the humanity. No f**king comic book club is going to stop that. Elaborate? It seems that there was rise in violence against police during Obama reign.Fake news.
