The Vinyl resurgence is just one incident away from becoming extinct as we know it. And few actually KNOW it.

It took that video for me to realize that albums do smell a bit like film when it was in that little black container. I've watched some of his vids before. Saw one of his about the resurgeance of cds. I still have cds in my truck and listen all the time. Sounds better than streaming.

Top 2 takeaways from that clip:

1) I need to find a way to buy a piece of Public Record Co. Ltd (Note: Make sure they are fully insured first)
2) Whaling is still a thing in Japan

Oh, it's nearly inevitable. And the value of vinyl will skyrocket overnight when it happens.

I stopped buying generic record pressings a few years back. They all sound digital and thin- b/c they are. If it's not an original pressing from the vinyl era or a remaster from a renown mastering company, it's just not worth it. The hi-res files are usually better.

It just makes no sense anymore. The re-masterings are usually good, but the pressings are usually bad b/c the vinyl they use is cheap, so I'm not sure what the point is anymore. It's not SQ of pressings b/c the latest thing in the hi-fi world is phono pre-amps that convert analog to digital, allow DSP shaping and "pop&click" filters, then send that as a analog signal to an amp. Why?

Forgot to add that you can mod the Puffin by adding a direct SPDIF connection and send the digital signal to your favorite DAC. LOL
