We saw them on the Sunday night before in Pittsburgh after seeing two Grateful Dead shows at the old Stanley theater, now Benedum. Acid meets Quualudes with people passed out everywhere that cold Sunday night. Pittsburgh was lit. The William Penn was insane the entire weekend was as the bands were staying on the top floors. Aikens Deli chickens and madness.I can’t think of The Who without thinking of the Stampede in Cincinnati in 1979. I wrote about it a few years ago.
