.....anybody going? I just saw them 2 weeks ago in Detroit at the Joe Louis Center . Completely sold out. Great show. They've been my favorite band since about 1975 now. Yeah, I'm that age

I will be there, great seats.

First time seeing them and extremely excited.

I have been tracking reviews since the tour started, consistantly great, going to be a good time.

Saw them in 1969. The venue had the acoustics of a barrel & my ears rang for days afterwards.

So, I'm probably even older.

I will be seeing them for the first time now in my 40's. I figure that this is my last chance. Roger Daltrey was extremely sick a few months ago and could have bought the farm. I am glad that I saw the Eagles at Rupp before we lost Glenn Frey too.

Sounds like you all are going to see a good show. Much better than attending shows by, say, John Mellencamp, The Eagles, Nickelback, or Dave Matthews.

Good job. My cousin saw the Who in Nashville a couple years ago. Said it was a real shindig.

I am jealous of all you mother humpers.

Saw a review of their set list from Detroit show - glad to see they're incorporating some different songs (seen them 2 or 3 times and set list was almost identical even though shows were a couple of years apart). The Seeker, Bargain, I Can See for Miles, etc. are all songs I wished I'd seen them play live. Of course, without The Ox, it's not really The Who. I think Zack Starkey does a great job of replacing Moon but The Ox was truly one of a kind. I saw them a lot closer to their prime and wouldn't want to see them again but, if you haven't seen them, they still put on a good show with a ton of exceptional music. Have fun.

I'm going! Good lower bowl seats on Pete's side. Been getting pumped all week watching documentaries and jamming some stuff on Spotify. First time seeing them. Glad Starkey still drums with them. That guy they had in the 80s was a nightmare.

I still am not used to them not opening with " I Can't Explain".. although "Who Are You" is not a bad opener

I will say they end their concerts a lot different than most. No encores. They finished their set, Won't Get Fooled Again, and then thank the audience, do a little talking, intro the band and then just walk off the stage.

Joan Jett was their opener for our show. She was great, would've been better had these two numbnuts hadn't decided to chit-chat during her set. Had to lean over and ask them if they were going to talk the whole show. They were very apologetic.

'Townshend & Daltrey perform The Who' songs is more accurate. It does raise the conundrum as to which members of a band are "allowed" to call themselves said band. If McCartney and Ringo toured as The Beatles the planet would explode in anger. BTW, I have no problem with these guys calling themselves The Who, just interesting to think about. IMO

McCartney and Ringo could get away with performing as the Beatles if they used Julian Lennon (who sounds like his dad) as one of the stand-in players.

In 1953, Clyde McPhatter recruited an existing gospel quartet to found The Drifters. By 1954, he fired them and got other singers .By the time the record company got around to releasing a single one side was from the original group. The other side was by the new group. Both named The Drifters. Eventually 33 different singers would perform under the name of the Drifters.

As for The Beatles. IIRC, Ringo was their 3rd drummer. (Tony Sheridan & Pete Best were the other 2)

"Ghost bands" are pretty commonplace. Unless someone has been in a coma longer than Rip Van Winkle's I don't think they'd be surprised by who shows up to perform.

Pete wrote all the songs. Roger sang almost all of them. I'd guarantee that a big chunk of the crowd has no idea who "The Ox" is even though he's one of the greatest bass players ever

Is there an opening act Saturday?

Yes, someone named Tal Wilkenfeld. A female bassist who now has her own band. Not bad, she opened in Detroit also. I only caught her last 2 songs.

She is supposed to be a real up and coming bassist. Originally it was going to be Joan Jett before the show was rescheduled.

Funny that Ringo has come up, Zack Starkey is playing drums for them.

I saw the Quadrephenia tour at Yum center a couple years ago. It exceeded my expectations. I went into it thinking we'd drink beers and have a good time, they were a lot better than I thought they'd be.

Zac is a pretty amazing drummer...lots or energy. Apparently when he was littler, his dad didn't really teach him the drums, so Keith Moon "taught" him....to the extent that Moonie's style could ever be taught.

I didn't realize Joan and The Who went way back. Apparently, they let her use their recording studio when she first started out on her own after leaving The Runaways and she didn't have the money to pay for studio time. They told her she could pay them back when she could. They also did a nice little tribute to Bowie who was a regular visitor to their NYC shows.

Tal is NOT an 'up and coming' - she's already there. Played with Chick Corea and Jeff Beck's band for several years. She's only just now started writing and singing her own music. She's a phenomenal bassist.

I enjoyed the show. I'm glad I went. Roger certainly can hit some of the notes like he used to and Pete doesn't have the energy he once had but that has to be expected. At least I can say I saw them. It was way better than the Clapton show at Conseco Fieldhouse about 10 years ago. I don't know if his dog died that day or what but he didn't want to be there and it showed.

Good show overall. Pete was in very good form but Roger seems to have aged much worse. His movement on stage looked a bit painful and he didn't quite have the punch in his voice. There were times in the show where they did instrumental numbers or where Pete sang in order to give Roger a needed break. This was not unexpected for someone in their 70's who nearly died a few months back. For me, I was most impressed by Ringo's boy, Zac. He was one heck of a drummer. I am very happy that I got too see them before they retire.

As for Tal, she is an excellent bassist. However, she is just ok as a singer and her songs were not much to listen too.

Interesting take on Roger - reviews have been very kind to his voice and I agree - I thought he hit most every note and the overall sound was good in Yum. Pete was on and Zak is very very good.

I did not see or hear Roger struggling...in fact I thought he was pretty strong and clear in voice. Pete was on fire, especially on "Sparks". Crowd was lively. I had a great time. Could've used that lost hours sleep though.
