The west side of things looks to be very interesting this season, GW has Honaker,Radford and Galax in 3 of our first 5 games. These games could really shape how the west will look any thoughts on these what look to be really fun games?

#1 Tolley #8 Beamer #25 Wells #33 Hardin #35 Harber #81 Rosenbaum and that's just the ones I can remember right off and we also brought up a lot of sophomore's. And I just looked at the 2A rankings and Marion is #9 so we have a great beginning schedule. And from the looks of it Radford, Galax and Honaker do as well If any of these 4 teams can come out of the first few games undefeated or with only 1 loss they will be a team to watch for sure this season looks to be really fun to watch. And I had a blast coming down to Honaker last year you guys have an amazing field.

I would actually like to see Honaker beef there schedule up a little more. They done fairly decent this year adding GW and bringing back Burton but I would like to see us get rid of Castlewood and I don't like the Holston pick up.

We are also fond of our concessions. I've talked to people that don't even watch a lot of high school football that come just to eat lol

I wish our district schedule was a bit better but at least our none district is pretty good this year we picked up Honaker and Galax so ill take that lol. And I was so into the game last year I didn't even get to try the concession ill have to try a dog or two this time lol

There's not much you can do about the district schedule. It is what it is. Then again, you could request to leave the Hogoheegee and join the MED, but that isn't really a step up. Galax and Fort Chiswell are better than Chilhowie and Rural Retreat now, but that isn't always the case.

True but hopefully they will improve over the next few seasons and like you said usually the best the MED has is fc and Galax and we have them in our non district.

Haha this is very true and I wish we still played Giles those where some of the most fun games I ever had the privilege to play in. And Floyd was always fun to play. Luckily we still have Radford and like I said above we have a nice out of district schedule. Speaking of schedule's is it Essex that only has like 2 or 3 1A teams?

Essex has four 1A teams (all are NND/Conf. 43 teams), three 2A teams (1 of the 3 is a NND/Conf. 43 foe), one 3A team, one 4A team and one 5A.

Our major hit was QB Broaddus, RB/DBGaskins, DB/WR Hammond, OL/DL Brooks, Lucas just off the top of my head. From what we have coming back and jv players. Those positions listed should be filled VERY well. I'm predicting pretty much of the same from Essex as the last 3 years.

Same for us with what we had coming back and what our jv brought up we should be a good bit better from last season. And no doubt you guys will be a force again this year, this season has the potential to be amazing fun. I cant wait lol

And I can't wait to see a new group of young men make some of the best of memories of there lives. Haha and all in good fun, I forget Scag who is your team?

Agreed GDUB2010 I can't wait for this new season I mean for myself and other GW fans. We get GW vs Radford then fc then Galax then Marion and then we get to make another trip down to Honaker and their amazing field and from what I hear they have some pretty good food down that way lol

The rematch of GW and Radford I'm also excited for. I wonder if the still have that speed at the WR positions and I have heard they still have that good QB. Yeah I'd much rather go the Abington route to get to Honaker haha, the blue field way is LONG.

Oh yeah Radford has the really good QB back and Radcats could probably answer the speed question. I would assume so with there high ranking.

I here Honaker lost several (22) does anybody know if this is correct.I think Radford has all skill positions back with a ton of speed.

I heard Honaker lost a few but had a few more to replace them and about the same size as last season. And yeah Finley the QB from Radford I hope spelled that right sorry if not... is a very good player with great speed.

Honaker lost 20 seniors and a ton from that semi final team. They are starting a sophomore qb with no meaningful game time clean up duty at the end of blow outs is all he's got. This team is VERY VERY young. I am excited/nervous to see what happens. All the preseason hype toward Honaker scares me. I'd like to say we have reloaded but only time will tell.

Well all I can say is the talent is there from what I saw last year. And did #81 come back? he was either the starting TE or a WR that kid tore us up lol.

Well I think that walk on will turn into a full blown roster spot that young man has great potential. I wish him the best of luck at the next level.
