Which would you say impacted the outcome more....the bad officiating or our mistakes?
Probably our mistakes because we have direct control over that; but honestly, if you remove one or the other completely from this game, I think PSU wins last night. Battling both of those is about as steep of an uphill climb for any team in any game.

They beat themselves. 1st INT gave Oregon a gift TD. There was the missed FG, going for 2 at 38-30, no reason to go for 2. The 2nd INT was an unneeded play call. 2nd and 1 with 2 minutes left and they couldn't stop Allen and Singleton. Ram it down their throats. Throw in the 4 unsportsmanlike penalties and you have a recipe for disaster. Should have won this game. History of Franklin teams.
And continually leaving the middle of the field wide open. It’s been a characteristic of PSU’s defense for a number of years now. It’s how opponents regularly covert on 3rd and 15+ yards

I agree. But I don't dwell on the bad officiating because, as you said, we have no control over that. We certainly need to play with more poise snd discipline. We've hurt ourselves in the games we've lost more than any thing else.

Have to stop thinking like that - wins need to matter. Bama takes care of business when they need to there is no discussion.
Well, to play Devil’s advocate. They lost to 2 unranked 6 loss teams where they were heavy favorites. Is that taking care of business?

Allar played really great at times, but has to eliminate the mistakes going forward. Also, playcalling was suspect at times. Tough loss to a really good team.
I could not agree more. We needed to be just a little bea little better in playing decisions and win the TO battle. They have a few more studs than we do but a couple of breaks and we win that game. Love the heart of this team.

So, why wasn’t that completion reviewed? I was unable to watch the game and have yet to see any reasonable explanation for that.

That's a good question. At first I thought the idea of an "expedited review" was a good idea. After last night it sure seems like it could lead to unilateral, perhaps arbitrary reversals of calls made on the field, with no review or explanation.

I know every touchdown is reviewed, but I thought every play is reviewed, too, just not to the same degree. But I guess not.

Was this the same crew that worked the OSU game, if so it was one way calls.

PSU o-line kept hands inside, UO , around waist, shoulder pads etc.
"Boys will be boys" except when it's PS.
Dillon, had a lineman down field on the TD pass.
4th Q., catch that ended up 2nd and 10 should have been instantly reviewed, they
had no trouble reviewing Allar's TD run.

This crew should never do a PSU game again, and i'm not overreacting.

I’m not being sarcastic here, so hear me out. Unless we, the PSU alumni/fanbase, voice our concerns, it will be forgotten about quickly. We should flood the B1G offices with e-mails/calls questioning the legitimacy of that crew.

The difference in the game was one (essentially) pick 6. Psu outgained oregon in total yards and ypp. Clean up some mistakes and/or force one Oregon turnover and it's an even game.
I also think O 3rd down efficiency (and the huge 4 n 2) was also a diff maker

YES - it was the same crew. Before the tOSU game, that crew told the broadcast 'they would let the boys play' meaning suspected questions would be allowed. Well, we know how that worked out - no PI against tOSU and no holding calls for PSU. BIG bias allowed !!

I think a 'rematch' on a grass field would be different - with refs from another conference - with a different final score.

Franklin teams are soft and play to “keep it close” against good teams…they are happy with that…and therein lies the problem.
