My wife was telling me about this story this morning. How horrifying.

I'm sure the old man feels like dying, but I would never forgive my father for being such an idiot. Totally tragic and completely preventable...the worst combination.

i’m Imagining the conversation in Terre Haute or Muncie or wherever before the trip began:

“Do we have to travel with your parents?”

“C’Mon, the family rate is cheaper, and you know dad is always good for a laugh.”

Knew a guy. Smart. Computer programmer. Worked for the city of Louisville. Said Holocaust never happened. He didn't see it, ergo. I mean, I got weird beliefs, I've seen a lot of weird stuff in my defense, but some stuff is beyond the pale.

Smart? Uh, no. He didn't see it, therefore it didn't happen. Incredibly stupid (and arrogant) way to go through life. "If I didn't see it, it didn't happen". Wow. I didn't see Hiroshima bombed. I didn't see slavery in the South. I didn't see Kennedy get assassinated. I guess none of those things happened, either. I can't describe how little patience I have with willful ignorance.

Granddad dropped a toddler off of a cruise ship - tragedy. Not sure how anyone would ever live with that.

Jesus Christ. If that was my dad, he'd have to kill himself to prevent me from killing him. What a complete failure of a human.

Some new mother left her 22 day old baby alone with the family dog. The dog killed the baby. In the Atlanta area.

I truly believe that about 40% of people that have kids aren’t smart or responsible enough to have them. The cycle of irresponsibility continues generation after generation.

I mean whether the window was expected to be ooen or not, you still had to drop the child right?? So its your stupid *** fault grandpa!!

Call off the lawyer and sack up and take responsibility for the love of God. We cant keep trying to blame someone or something else for every stupid thing we do. Hate this litatgous society

To be fair to the family, they are claiming the child approached an open window and fell out, and the grandfather was trying to save the child. The family's attorney claims that newer boats aren't built with these types of windows for this very reason.

Sounds like they have a decent case if that's what they are claiming. They'll get a pretty nice settlement I'd imagine.

I've always said that that the human race is the only species where Darwin's "Survival of the Fittest" doesn't prove true. The cream of the crop of human society.......the educated, the law abiding, the good citizens, etc, etc........all have roughly 2 kids per family. Anyone you'd see on COPS and Jerry Springer squeeze out litters of 10 or more.

I have 2 kids. Rule number 1: never take you eyes off them when in a new place. Rule 2: see rule #1. It's terrible. But you can't turn your head for a second.

We were inside a fenced in area at Disneyland about 20 years ago .. took our eyes off our daughter for a second paying attention to older brother , turned around and she was stark naked playing in a water fountain . Well she had on shoes . Funny stuff

Im sure the old man feels like dying.

Did it say how old he was? Probably some mid 40s dumbass grandad. Horrible story. Worse even than those stories of kids cooking to death in cars, as the exterior of a cruise ship port window is never a place for a toddler.
