Where I am exaggerating, I will note. Otherwise, this is close to verbatim:

It was the worst officiated game in B1G history.
Matt Painter is a terrible coach. If he just taught players how to attack a press, they would have won.
The whole second half, Purdue could get wide open looks for threes and just could not hit a shot.
NU fouled on practically every possession.
Northwestern played football, while Purdue played basketball.
Northwestern set moving picks almost every time they had the ball, but it was not called once.
The BIG office needs to call in all the refs and reinstruct them that mugging players is a foul.
The NU student body is a bunch of drunken, insufferable jerks who should be reprimanded by the conference.
Chase Audige is in his eighth year of eligibility.
It is really unfair how other teams beat up on Edey. He is fouled every time he touches the ball or tries to rebound. Viciously.
Teams have figured out Purdue’s weaknesses, and the Boilers will be lucky to win three more conference games.
It is really unfair that teams like NU and Rutgers, with veteran, physical guards, should be allowed to intimidate the Purdue guards, because the Purdue guards lack experience. The officials should allow the Boiler guards more freedom of movement to compensate for their inexperience. (Ok, that was an exaggeration. What they actually said was that it was unfair for teams to play physically on fighting screens and working traps, and if fouls were called on plays like that their guards would not turn the ball over as much.)
Purdue lost the game. Northwestern surely did not win it.

Purdue fan here, don't take too much stock in the cesspool that is H&R (or any Purdue free board). Congrats to the Cats on a huge win. Just do me a favor and don't get too high off this win that you come out flat against the Hoosiers! You've got a lot to play for there (2nd place with a shot at tying for a reg season title).

Reddit was full of bad refs, and how Edey was bleeding from 2 cuts and another guy also bleeding.

Both teams had 17 fouls.

The refs struggled again today, but I'd hardly call it the worst officiated NU game this month, let alone in history.

I did not like the decision to call a shot-clock violation on Purdue, even if it benefited NU. Just seemed wrong to me. The flagrant foul and goal-tending calls were borderline, but you can justify them. There were other borderline plays going the other way.

As for fouling Edey on every play, that may be true, but that's the same as "there's holding on every play" in football. It's just a physical game and he's enormous. I wouldn't apologize for that. It's just basketball.

So happy I have my law license still after the altercation that happened with a Purdue fan courtside with :30 left

Don’t worry, the Cats are excited to be Indiana state champs.

NO, NU caused Purdue to lose the game.

Was I a big state school fan I don’t think I could ever be even remotely tempted to post or read a free board. It’s just too much.

The most annoying fan I ever sat next to was a Purdue fan at Mackie Arena. But, overall, always had a pleasant experience the 6 or 7 times I went to Mackie.

Edey pushes off on every rebound attempt and camps in the lane for several seconds every trip. None of it called.

They did call him for one push in the back on Nicholson. And Edey complained vigorously even though it was obvious. Even Bardo said it was a love tap. One (of the few) the refs got right.

I thought Edey played great right up until the end when NU was swarming him and he couldn't trust anybody on his team to make a shot.

Nicholson made Edey work - its usually easier for him. Maybe the Bigger Big Man got tired.

There was some griping about that during the game thread, but I thought he was consistently exiting on time, and I never noticed anything egregious.

The fact that the refs did not blow their whistles when Nicholson and Edey got their arms all locked up and looked like they were grappling near the free throw line - that restored my faith in humanity.

Play on, gentlemen!

Three observations:
1) Purdue fans around me were loud, but only slightly annoying. No different than any other Big Ten fan base, IMO.

2) A generous Purdue fan bought me a beer before the game started. One of those senseless acts of kindness. Much appreciated.

3) Purdue fans are not even in the same league of obnoxiousness as Buckeye fans. OSU fans are still the worst.

I had to laugh yesterday when I heard a Purdue fan yelling “3 seconds” after Boo penetrated and then looked to pass. Edey was camping in the paint the entire game. The refs never call 3 seconds against anyone.

“Northwestern is too physical for us” is not a comment that I ever expected to hear after an NU Purdue game. I love it. Totally different mentality than last year.

Nicholson was a beast on defense. Tydus was a bit overmatched size wise (he struggled to prevent Edey from getting great low post position) but he gave 110%. And our guards really took their freshmen to the cleaners down the stretch. Great performance.

My experience with the Purdue jackass behind me was:

a) Stereotypically screaming about no fouls non stop ... in the second half. I guess the refs suddenly switched their style at halftime. So be it. idiots are going to be idiots.

b) Repeatedly calling the refs "pussies" with a bunch of kids around us. Real classy.

To be reasonable, I'm sure these experiences are the big-mouth minority. This IU alum has never really had overall issues with Purdue fans. Also, I thought Painter was ultra-smooth, straightforward and cool in his postgame yesterday unlike many coaches who feed off of fan garbage.

But really, if you're one of these nut cases, get over it. If you're repeatedly barking about refs only when you lose, and doing it in front of multiple young kids, you need to get in under control. You don't have a clear view of the game.

My favorite comment was by a Purdue poster who swears that one of the reasons Purdue lost was because the referees had bet $$ on the Cats.

It would be about damn time. They've been betting on our opponents for the last century or so.

Thankfully the altercation remained verbal. I may have ran onto the court prior to the expiration of the game clock to avoid the risk of escalation.
That was you? Left hand side of the TV screen directly across from the Northwestern bench? I noticed someone jump the gun like a defensive end timing the snap count. As is the case in the NFL, they must be letting these transgressions slide.

Here is what I told those yucks at Hammer and Rails:
1) complaining about officiating is the second oldest profession
2) Sunday was a tournament-type game, and Purdue choked. It does not bode well for March.
