(or any other classification in the English alphabet which indicates "non believer" or "Anti- Creator/God) or simply a "disbeliever".

From Trump's speech:

"The Bible tells us how good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity. We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity".

"We are protected and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God".

"And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the windswept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they fill their heart with the same dreams and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty Creator"

"Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America"

To many Americans who understand that "we hold these Truths to be self evident", those words were like sweet music. However I'd imagine to many others who detest and despise the mere thought of us being 'one Nation under God', indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all...Trump's words were probably more like a call to armed resistance.

Why do you assume that all agnostics and atheists get freaked out by any mention of religion? It would be like me assuming that every Christian is offended by "Happy Holidays."

I don't know really. Why get upset over something that to yourself doesn't exist?

Christians are cool with folks who don't believe. Christians get upset when they are told they can't express or share or argue for their beliefs...or worse yet, that their beliefs are wrong and have no place in a Nation founded on them! "We hold these Truths to be self evident"

There's where you get Christians ready to throw down.

other than taking those words from the republican playbook, what other evidence can you provide that Trump is a Christian or in other way a believer in God? And I can't even believe that you were happy that he used the term same almighty Creator. Many Christians and most evangelicals don't believe the God of Christians and Jews is the same God of the Muslims. I am assuming he sincerely meant all Americans and wasn't carving out segments like many wingnuts regularly do.

Well let me answer you this way...I have no idea what he is. I really don't try to pass judgement on someone's Faith because that is personal. I know many Muslims, we don't share the same beliefs true enough, but we share Faith... in a Supreme God or Authority over human affairs.

I'm not getting into arguments about "who's God" or "which God" because Truth will sort all of that out for sincere seekers of God's essence.

As for what Trump actually affirmed in his speech as far as our Nation, and recognizing where our ultimate authority and protection resides...he was 100% correct in my opinion.

Americans are free to disagree (that was the point of my post) but having our President at least acknowledge Godly authority for the rest of Americans who also do believe or have their Faith...it was awesome.

His (Trump )address to the nation/world, was we are once again a Christian nation.Never to ever to be "fundamentally changed AGAIN ".. I was so stoked to hear him bring Christian values back to our founding fathers ideals. . It's now very, very obvious that MSM had all the labels on Trump TOTALLY WRONG. ..BIG LEAGUE!

They probably had him pegged to be what he's turned out to be, they just didn't think he'd actually SAY it as brazenly as he did. They're out there now trying to suggest he's speaking in some sort of anti-Semitic code, when all he's trying to do is remind the country of it's original values and how we should both be proud of that and expect greatness because of it.

They hate that message lenny4wvu because they think the nation is essentially illegitimate both in its Christian foundation, and boasts of being an equal society that treats everyone fairly.

They see Christians as racist homophobic bigots out to control everyone's lives by "forcing" their Religion down everyone's throats, and they see America as nothing more than an international bully that just throws it weight around to rip off poor countries and destroy the environment from its lavish Lifestyle and greedy Capitalist system that only helps rich people at the expense of everyone else.

I'm not joking my Man, this is exactly how the Left thinks.

Nation building was ALWAYS WRONG for us as a nation. That's EXACTLY why the rest of the world dispise us so bad. With the America First proposal,we'll leave the world alone to eat themselves. We quite literally do not NEED anybody else,to be the nation we ONCE were. Just think of how fast we could get out of all this insane debt, if we weren't sending BILLIONS of "aid"to all of these foreign governments.Like the song from Janet Jackson "What have you done for me lately".. And I don't know if anyone else noticed, but when Ovomit abstained from the UN vote,he just ushered in "World Peace".. (forcing a two nation state in Jerusalem) he just put us into the 7 yr tribulation period.. Is Kenya considered "middle eastern "? The anti-christ is coming from the middle east.. And mark my words Ovomit will be the Secretary General of the UN..it WILL happen..

I sure hope we support Israel. It's not going to be to our benefit not to. As for the rest of what you said, we've liberated more people, and fought against tyranny in more places than any other Nation in history.

Seems to me some nation's do owe us a little payback, if not straight cash reimbursements for all we've sacrificed to keep them free. But you're right, let's take care of America first. When we're strong, we can help others be strong too.

Obama is destined for the ash heap of History. His legacy will be one of lost hope and blown opportunity for change.

It wouldn't surprise me if neither Trump nor Obama was a believer. Obama gives little indication of it and Trump gives none at all. Saying or doing things for political reasons is one thing, believing is another. When you're in politics you have no practical choice but to pretend you believe.

You may be right, but he does appear to at least be sympathetic to people of Faith.

You have to act sympathetic to people of Faith if you want to be successful in politics. A better indicator is what someone was like when he wasn't in politics. Trump didn't give any indication then that he was religious then. Obama was involved in religion a lot but then again he has been political since way back when so there isn't really a pre-politics reference time for him we can look at. He doesn't sound like a religious person though.

He didn't say anything new. Campaign is over and it's time for business.

Agreed. But there are many on the Left and in the bureaucracy who will not make it easy for him to succeed. Don't want him to because it will mean an end to their power and/or influence.

We'll see.

I think he has a 1 & 1/2 to 2 year window for folks to see things starting to change for the better. If we're no better off in January of 2019 than where we sit today, he and the Republicans better start updating their resumes.

On the other hand if the Dems don't find a new message and/or new leaders to carry it, they may not even get elected to serve as monitors in their local voting precincts.

We could be looking at a legitimate Constitutional Convention among the States by then if Trump and the Republicans fail to dismantle Leviathan.
