Does everybody in the world expect me to open the door for them, they'll stand on the other side of double doors waiting, and waiting.

People that push baby strollers like they're snowplows. They'll push the baby strollers full steam into a group of people, not slowing down, down the middle of the sidewalk, did they forget they have a little baby seated in there.

I have a "something" in my house that randomly does strange things. This happened a couple of years ago and is one of the oddest.

I can't go to sleep at night without reading for a half hour or so first. When I finish for the night I always just put the book on the other half of the bed. I work from home, and one day during my lunch break I decided to read a bit before going back to work. I looked on the bed for the book I was reading but it was gone. I looked on the floor and even got a flashlight and looked under the bed. No book. I pulled all the bedding off the bed and shook each piece out. Still no book. I made another check of the area around the bed and then said screw it, I'll go back to work. After about 10 minutes my youngest Great Dane started barking. I'm used to all my dogs' barks, but this was one I'd never heard before. She sounded frantic. So I jumped up from my desk and ran. She was standing in the doorway to my bedroom, still barking and staring at the ceiling. I looked up at the ceiling and saw nothing, but when I looked down there was the missing book, right in the middle of the bare mattress.

Years ago my grandparents lived next to a mortuary (they built first, didn't move in next to one). My uncle who was in his middle teens lived in the bedroom that looked out at the mortuary (literally 50-60 feet from his window). One evening around 2:00 AM he was woken to the sound of a baby crying. Said he jumped out of bed woke my grandparents, they could hear it as well and they all went outside to investigate. When they got outside they could no longer hear the crying and chalked it up to a rabbit possibly being killed by a predator (cat, fox or coyote). My uncle claims he could hear the crying for the rest of the night and couldn't sleep because of the noise. Next day when my uncle gets home from Football practice my grandparents let him know that there was a service at the mortuary and it was in fact for an infant. He claims he couldn't sleep for a week.

Nothing to do with football or politics.

Just something that has happened to you that you don't understand.

I think everybody has at least one.
About 2 years ago I was in a dead sleep. I heard a noise that made me pop up, I was wide awake. I saw what I thought was my son walking down the hallway with a blanket over his head. I yelled out his name and said what are you doing in a stern voice. Next thing I see is my 6 year old son pop his head up at the foot of our bed. Scared the living poo out of me!

I lived in a house with a buddy of mine, and I am convinced that it was haunted. Too many unexplained things happened

First incident: We were watching a Basketball game, it was around the beginning of March. While watching it the TV just shut off on it's own. My friend and I both saw that the remote was in the middle of the floor right in front of the TV. Neither of us turned the TV off, so joking to each other we said what should we name our ghost. My buddy says how about Earl, I laughed and said that seems like a friendly ghost name. I get up, pick up the remote and turn the TV back on. It turned on to a country western station and the first word on of the character what "Hey Earl". We were freaking out!

Second incident: We were both sleeping, and it was about 4AM, and we both woke up to a weird screeching sound. I pop out of my bedroom with a louisville slugger bat, and at the same time my buddy comes out of his room with a golf driver. We turn on the light and see our kitchen trash can lid in the middle of the living room floor. There was a wall between the kitchen and living room. It would of had to of been carried out of the kitchen and placed in the living room. No windows were open.

Third incident: Same start as incident 2, but this time it was a loud crash. We went searching around the house to see where it came from. We went into the bathroom and found our shower head hanger with all the soaps in the middle of the floor and the shower curtain was still closed.

All three things I still can't explain till this day. The one with my son, I would chalk up to a lucid dream or false awakening

I lived in a standard ranch style house. One night I was playing catch with my kid in the great room. He was prob about two at the time. The only light on in the house was the tv and a small under-cupboard light in the kitchen. I threw the ball and he missed it, the ball bounced into the kitchen. He turned and ran towards the ball at full speed like two year olds do. When he got to the hallway he threw on the brakes on and snapped his head towards the hallway like someone yelled his name. He stared for a few seconds, giggled, then he nodded and went and got the ball. I asked him what he was looking at, he said "the grandpas". I got up and turned the hallway light on. The kid was creepy when he was little. Always seeing "the grandpas". Now, he's 12 and just kind of a pain in the ***.

We shot a couple hellfires at a group of guys in Afghanistan, a couple of them didn't get up, but a couple appeared relatively unharmed. One sat under a tree. JTAC calls in an F-16 an puts a 500lb bomb basically right on this dudes chest. Smoke clears, this dude gets up, and takes off running down the mountain. Never seen anything like that, if you or I would have been within 300 yards of that bomb we'd be dead.

We tried to kill a couple other guys walking along a pathway up a mountain, this pathway was basically the edge of a cliff. Hellfires miss the target, and the guy we tried to kill basically does a swan dive off the cliff head first. Kills himself, although not right away, he survived for at least a little while as a bag of jello before he passed. Also entirely unexpected.

-Life irony: Like how hair grows everywhere on us where you don't want it, but not where you do...
-Over & under reliance on technology. One example, it defies explanation to me to think that we shouldn't teach spelling, writing and other basic forms of human competency since a "computer" will do it for you. On the opposite end, why can't TSA use a database to rank frequent flyers and their danger to flying. I'm not saying that they shouldn't do any security, but if a person flies 4 times a week and they haven't had any past issues, they should classified as a less risk person and given the express treatment
-Explain to me how the "land of the free" incarcerates the most people in the entire world

I think they covered this on the show Hunters on the SiFi Channel.

Frequent flyer preference would be very easy to abuse. Just fly 3 or 4 times a week for whatever length of time is required and you will eventually be deemed less of a threat? All this requires is patience on the part of a terrorist.

As much of a pain as it is to go through the line, it does serve a purpose in my opinion. We just gotta be sure the people working those lines are paying attention.

That wouldn't be the only factor in the database. It'd just be one of many. Others would be occupation, who your family/friends are, past criminal record, etc. Again, I'm not advocating NO security, just use some technology to our advantage here and start to pre-filter/profile some of the passengers that clearly aren't a threat into a more efficient security process.

If you are telling the truth, I'd be moving from that place...pronto!!!

Nah, doesn't bother me. This happened a couple of weeks ago:

I collect vintage stereo equipment and have a vintage set-up in almost every room of the house. I have one of those old-fashioned FM antennas attached to the one in the bedroom. If you are older you know what I'm talking about: it's a plastic loop that the wire runs through. One day I noticed that the cord for my alarm clock was passing through the loop. Now this is impossible without unplugging the alarm clock, as the antenna loop has no break in it. The clock was still plugged in and I had not unplugged it and plugged it back in. So I unplugged the clock, pulled the cord out of the loop and plugged the clock back in. I went downstairs to get meds for a sick dog and then went back upstairs to where the dog was. I was not downstairs for more than 3-4 minutes. I gave the dog his meds and then glanced back over at the stereo set-up. The cord was back through the loop.

I named my "visitor" Fred the Poltergeist. One night when he was being especially rambunctious and knocking CD's out of one of those wooden racks I yelled "Fred, If you have something to say, say it. Otherwise cut it out." The CD's stopped flying.

Not a human intruder. If someone my 3 Great Danes don't know even approaches the house they all let me know. And they are not friendly to anyone until I introduce them. Then they love you to death.

In college I lived in a old house on S street, can't recall the exact intersection, maybe between 29th and 30th? Cool looking place, kinda victorian style with the wrap-around porch. Landlord used to name his properties so this one was "Casablanca" and it had a big sign on it that said that. Anyhow, lived there with 2 other guys and they had weirder experiences than I ever did.

It was 3 br, 2 upstairs and one down and I had the downstairs one. So I was directly below one of them, and it had a squeaky floorboard so I would always hear when my roommate got up in the morning because that board would creak. So one afternoon I'm in my room and I figured maybe my roommate is gone or he's napping. I hear the board creak so I went upstairs because I was gonna tell him something. I was the only one home.

Guy who stayed in that bedroom said at night sometimes, he would feel something crawl into bed with him. Or out of the corner of his eye he'd see somebody walk by.

We used to park in the back yard because you could drive right in from the alley. Our third roommate said he pulled up to the back once and thought I was home because he saw somebody looking out the upstairs window. Nobody home. I get back from class one day to find him just creeped out. It was just me and him living in the house at this point. We would keep the third Br shut and the vent closed to save a little on utilities. We'd come home to find the door opened all the time. He tells me he was in his room right next to it, and the door was open, so he shut it. Goes back to his room. The door opens. He shuts it. Goes back to his room. The door opens HARD and thumps against the wall. Then from downstairs he hears this CLANK and goes down to the kitchen to find a pint glass standing up in the middle of the floor.

Guy who moved in after me claimed to have seen crazier **** than that...but he also used to do acid so take that with a grain of salt I guess.
I was an electrical contractor in a house that had been unlived in for over 40 years. A longtime bachelor used it for when he came instate to duck hunt but he wed a longtime bachelorette that wanted to remodel the house for a summer home. In my first walk through with the owners I saw that the house was like Mom and Dad left it in the 50s before they died. The owner did not want to gut all the walls or remove furnishings so we had to fish wire through accessible walls from new panel in basement to 2nd floor and attic. Mom's clothes were still in the closets, dishes in the cabinets everything but petrified food in the pantry. The first day I never noticed a presence but on the second day I felt like I was being watched and with more drilling and cutting in plaster and lathe the presence became constant. I never felt threatened but always felt a questioning "Who are you, what are doing here, what are you doing to my house?" I started wearing a crucifix everyday and had talk radio going on very floor and generally felt at peace with the "resident" until I went into the master bedroom (closet above closet from basement to attic an electrical fisherman's dream) then she always returned and asked the same questions over and over again. When the plumbing contractor came in I mentioned my experiences with the "resident". He was of course amused but when I talked to him later all he wanted to talk about was being looked at and the joint being haunted. An apprentice was finishing up the last of a day while I checked on another job. He was drilling holes under an attic eave when a squirrel (?) landed on the roof and scampered to the peak. Kid said he ran almost to the front door before he recovered his wits (evidence leads to him bolting and spending the last hour driving around). I have since worked many jobs in that area and feel nothing as I drive past but I do not care to enter the master bedroom again.

Was in college and lived in a split level house with 3 other guys. Was actually a newer house which made things even weirder. One roommate was hardly ever there as he often stayed with his girlfriend. Many times we would come running up from downstairs when we heard the front door shut so we could get rent money from him. More times than not no one had come in, but the door had definitely shut. Pool balls on our pool table would be re-arranged when we came back to it. Radio in his room would always be on and would often change volume no matter how many times we would shut it off. Last straw for me was when it was probably 4am and I got up to take a pee. Bathroom was straight across the hall from my room. As I was walking across the hall his bedroom light turned on and the radio went up loud enough to wake my other roommate. He came running from his room all mad and saw the look on my face. He turned to face the other roommates room and the light shut off, radio went off, and the door slammed. Thank God our lease was up and we moved 3 weeks later.

I had to drive my wife to the airport at 4 am one Saturday morning. On the way, there was 4 cop cars on the interstate (2 on each side) blocking the interstate and redirecting traffic thru down town. When we hit downtown I took a different route that ran pretty much parallel to the interstate. Then we saw why the interstate was closed. There were dead bodies every where. There were also ambulances, corner trucks, and a bunch of disturbed looking faces. But no civilian cars nor camera crews. Nothing like that. My wife and I monitored all of this on an overlook hill. Then we noticed we weren't alone.

There were 2 guys and a girl sitting in a car in front of us. I didn't think much of it until a cab pulled up and they got out. They started unloading their car into the cab. My original thought was that their car broke down and they were just catching a cab. Then I herd one guy say, just grab what you need and leave the rest. Then he rolled down all of the car door windows and threw the keys into the passenger side. Then he said to the girl "wont be needing those anymore". They all laughed and were extremely happy and drove off in the cab. I looked at my wife and she shrug he shoulders like "IDK" & "WTF". So we proceed back to the airport and sure enough, the 3 folks we had just seen were in front of us being dropped off by the cab. And so it became more odd and creepy.

When I went home, I turned on the TV to here reports about all the dead bodies on the interstate but nothing was talked about. I watched the local news religiously that day but nothing was talked about. Read the Sunday morning news paper expecting it to be the headlines & again, nothing. Then it occurred to me, it must have been a training exercise and I was just being stupid. So I called the police department to ease my mind and also inform them of the suspicious people I ran across in case it wasn't a training exercise. They denied anything had happen, including a training exercise. I asked to speak to their supervisor or someone else he might have better info & spoke to a police sergeant. He promised me, nothing had happen and assured me that if something did happen, he would know (even if it was a big training exercise).

Please understand that there were a ton of police officers, ambulances, & muni workers when this had happen, so its not like it was a minor thing. So after speaking to the police, I thought to myself, this must of been a dream or something. But when I talked to my wife that day, she asked what the local news was saying about it, so it obviously was not a dream. Then I told her that nothing was being said and it was as if nothing had happen.

Then we both thought for a second we had lost are minds. Then she remembered she took pictures to text to her friends about why she was running late. I then recalled the sergeant who told me he was the all knowing police officer and told him that we had pictures, he paused for a while when I told him that. Told me he'd call me back and never did. I contacted the local news channels about it and they said they weren't interested in the story even though we had proof. It all reads like a bad conspiracy theory movie, I know, but I finally just gave up on it. It is what it is and something that defies explanation

That's an amazing story. And very disturbing.

When I was a little kid we had a pure white cat. I grew up on the farm so the cats ran around the place. One day my mom was driving home and ran over the cat in the driveway. Bloodied to heck, flat as a pancake this cat was. My mom buried it in the cornfield. Well, two-three days later up comes the cat, dirty as heck and bloodied face. Just strolled up to us like nothing ever happened. Very crazy thing to see.

Bloodied to heck, flat as a pancake this cat was. My mom buried it in the cornfield. Well, two-three days later up comes the cat, dirty as heck and bloodied face. Just strolled up to us like nothing ever happened. Very crazy thing to see.

Sounds like you live near Pet Cemetery?

My wife does on an old phone. I'll try to hunt down and post the pics. May be a few days. It's freaky.

Hey Spinner4. Can you tell us what city that occurred in? I have friends/distant relatives in law enforcement in several states and I'd like to pass the story on to them to see what they can tell me. If you don't want to get into that detail, I'll understand.

I think that this hit a nerve with me because a number of years ago when I was driving back from Lincoln to Colorado Springs, between North Platte and Ogallala, the state patrol had all the west-bound traffic exit the Interstate and drive north a good 4-5 miles to a county road heading west. East-bound traffic was coming back onto the Interstate at the same exit. All I could see in the distance was several helicopters over or near the Interstate. I was far enough away that all I could tell was that they were small, not Chinook size. Now it's very likely that they were Flight-For-Life choppers and their had been a bad accident. But the interesting thing is that, being an extremely nosy sort, I looked on-line for information about what had happened. I checked the North Platte and Ogallala newspapers and local TV station websites and never found anything. I also checked the State Patrol website and found nothing about a response to an accident on that stretch of the highway, although the website at the time was not what I would call user friendly and I may have missed something. This was a good 4-5 years ago and I still wonder about it occasionally.
