Very excited about the upcoming season, as most all of us are. But thinking ahead to the following season . . . yes, we'll obviously miss Nick, and Justin Mullins too. But it seems to me that the production we'll lose after this season is considerably less than what we lost in Barnhizer, Ty Berry, Big Matt and Jalen Leach from last year. And given the fairly extensive minutes our young guys will be getting this season, it seems reasonable to expect that a number of them - and it doesn't need to be ALL of them - will take an appreciable step forward in '26-'27. In today's climate, keeping them all together without significant transfer losses won't be easy to pull off, of course. But if CCC can manage to keep the majority of this squad together, I would just toss out there that we could be a top-15 type team over the next couple of seasons. Dare I suggest this could even go so far as to be the beginning of a golden age of Northwestern basketball? Of course none of us have crystal balls . . . but as a 40-year, non alum fan, I can't recall ever being as optimistic about the state of the program as I am now. What do you guys think?
